My car passed last week with similar results. 3 YO Remus. Beware, the car should NOT be passing the visual inspection. Make sure the shop is mod friendly before even going by. Once you fail visual and input in the computer, you will have to go to stock or find someone willing to say that it was put back to stock....

I remember Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear saying the gases leaving the pipes are actually cleaner than those coming in to the air intake.
Also, this is my first post. I just got my 04 996TT Cab on Monday. Tonight my face hurt when I crossed the Golden Gate Bridge at sundown with the top down. I can't remember smiling so much.

No, they are not.
You may be able to pass if the shop doesnt really know what they are looking at..
Why mess with the intake? Zero gains unless you are going over 600HP.

As to your original question, no, an intake will not pass CA smog. Any aftermarket part must carry a CARB EO number to be smog legal. There are no intakes for our car that I know of which have been approved by CARB for our cars. If you get a smog tech who is unfamiliar with our cars he may let the visual part of the exam slide. You should be fine with the tailpipe portion of the exam as the intake won't materially affect your car's emissions.
Intake, Exhaust, Turbos, Flash, Boost Hoses, Intercoolers, Diverter Valves
Very low likelihood of getting caught, but people should know not to say a damn thing....
