Why 60-130 specifically?
Why the acceleration test from 60-130 specifically? why not 50-120...etc

It may be derived from the unit of measure 100kph to 200kph, or 62mph to 124mph.

Why 0-60 instead of 0-55? Why a 1/4 mile instead of a 1/3 mile? Why ask why??

Because 60 to 130 replicates your typical highway roll on (although the Supra guys always try and start at 70).

For the majority of Supra guys... yes. Me.. 1st/2nd gear rolling racin' ! (Ok so I did a few 60+ pulls for M5 shooting )

IMO, it is because the fast 6speed TTs shine in this category. You don’t see car magazines use this as one of the tests. For a Tip person like me, I would have started something like 0-113 because the Tips shine in this range.

I usually start at 160 mph and right when they think they are winning, hit the spray at 180 mph!

I believe the 60-130 comes from an ancient Druid ritual to test ones virility, speed and strength....
