yo steve, your tires look too narrow for your wheels
what condition were the turbo twists in when you picked them up?

That's what I told him last night, those tires under load/turns were probably shifting inside of the rim!

I'm not trying to start anything here, but shouldn't the manufacturer know what width the wheels are? Measure from the inside the rolled or edge portion of the wheel to the other side to the same spot...that should give you your width.

Did you meaure the outside of the rim or the inside?

wheels are measured inside the lips from bead seat to bead seat. The lips typically aren't as thick as they are tall, so an 8" width wheel will measure at 8.75" or so from outside edge to outside edge.

A while back, i needed to order a wheel. I measured the width, it was a tad over 12". When i brought the wheel in to order an exact copy, they told me even though i measured it to be over 12", it was a 11.5" wheel.

not that you need further confirmation, but the tire stretch is fine. I daily on stretched tires that would make those look conservative and I drive 2500 miles a month.

Stretched tires being dangerous is simply a misnomer.. I know many guys who run stretch setups without any problem.

Stretch is ok for slow and show but i would not be running tires like that on a high performance car like a 996 tt.
