M5 kill

Sunday morning minding my own business, driving to pick up my daughter in Dallas, top down and low fuel light on, a new M5 starts taunting me. Check my range and decide to engage!
  1. The onramp is nicely banked as I pass him on the inside shifting through 5th as he turns into a speck in my rear-view. Back to cruising speed (80).
  2. A mile later I see him coming hard up the right lane, downshift to 3rd (breaking traction) as he passes me, my right foot firmly planted on the floor, pull 4th and I'm on him like a cheetah on an antelope, punch 5th and rocket past him! Keeping an eye on upcoming traffic, the M5 and my blaring V1, looking to my left is a cop as we pass him well over 160! SH*T! Luckily it's a divided highway. On the brakes hard, thank GOD for PCCB's.
  3. Through traffic side by side I guess he didn't get enough, I was embarrassed for him.

My daughter asked why I picked her up so early

Nice!

Talking about daughters....My 8 year old daughter said to me yesterday, Dad, when is the Porsche coming back from Phoenix as I want to go for a drive. She is totally converted to the brand and I love it.

The funny thing is my two older boy's have less passion for the car than she does. She is the best

Uh, the M5 wasn't trying or was too scared to push it around corners. You can't make an e60 M5 a speck on your rear view mirror. At highway speeds you could probably beat it but I think the faster you get the closer the closer it would be.

Just curious - why upgrade the intercoolers on an "S" with stock turbos? It should already have GT2 ones. Planning other mods?

FVD 996 Turbo Sport Intercooler Kit

Bolt-on-upgrade kit. These units offer a substantial power increase as they more effectively cool (up to 20% more cooling over stock units) the charged incoming air allowing for a denser mixture.

Mod. 996 TT/GT2 Turbo (01-05)

Anyway Smooth, you should be picking on cars your own size. The M is 4 doors and a 1000 lbs heavier.
