2004 996TT X50 - How much $??

I'm ready to pull the trigger on a 2004 996TT with the X50 package. 14,000 miles, 19" HRE's, lowering springs, tint. It appears to be in excellent shape. Is $65k too much?

Any assistance appreciated. Need to make a decision by tomorrow. Thanks.

Any warranty? Did you have a ppi done, and is it sound mechanically? Any other significant options? Seems only a little high, but if everything else is the way you want it could still be a good deal for you. Should be issue free at this price.

No warranty. It has carbon fiber package, navigation, Ipod connection. Looks to be in real good shape. It's being purchased from Hendrick Porsche so I'm assuming it will check out. No PPI done.

Wasn't the X-50 option a "S" by 2004? $65K is reasonable - if the car is in excellent shape

No, S was only 2005. $65K is, I think, a little high. I paid $55, but mine was higher mileage (but a cab).

I'd offer high 50's and see what happens.

You might ask for an extended warranty from Porsche usually a couple years and a max miles (I think called a cpo?) The car would then have to pass a very tough inspection first. If you had that warranty after that inspection at the $65K price...seems like a much better deal. Remember it is a tough/buyers market....

2004 x50

I think that is a fair price. Get them to include the CPO. A year ago that was a 75K car.

I bought a 2004 X50 with 17k miles for $77k in Sept 2007. That was a GREAT deal at that time.

As I've tracked prices, we've generally seen $7k price drop per calendar year. You can do the math. The wild car is the decimation in the entire market segment....anywherfe from 5-10k more than what the 'curve' would suggest.

Now, [*** kick on]

Are you NUTS to think because you are buying from a P dealer it 'should check out'???? OMG. They are used car dealers in a nice building- if something is wrong you have ZERO recourse. You mst get a PPI from a different shop- and that PPI must list exactly what you want inspected (there is no 'standard PPI')... don't forget DME dump and look for codes.

[AK off]

They might not do the CPO if there are significant mods... but there is ABSOLUTELY no way I'd buy a car from a P dealer without a CPO. Not an aftermarket warranty, but their CPO. This is how they justify their high prices, make them do it.

Oh, they probably paid $45-50k for the car on trade....

I have purchased several cars over the internet sight unseen without any problems. Maybe I've just been lucky. I agree that a PPI would make sense. Consider your *** kicking successful.

Can a car be CPO'd even after the original warranty has expired? There are no engine mods.

Don't know how long it has been for sale but additional negotiation is probably in order.

Yes, it can. It is hust cheaper to CPO a car with existing warranty, because anything broken could be charged back to porsche.

Cheaper to the dealership, that is... since THEY are the owner, THEY need to have it prepped to pass the CPO inspection: tires over 50% tread; brake pads over 50% left; etc. etc

Good luck

Your X50 looks very clean.

How's the paint? Is everything working? Do you have service records? Any accidents? Any mods?

Send the additional details to pvandenburg@***.net. Thanks.
