need some help on picking a new turbo setup
OK I have a 2003 TIPTRONIC.. already have switzer exhaust.. new DV, BMC air filter and at the moment reflash by FVD... have the stock K16's... looking to get more performance for street only use.. no track... whats the best way to go? hybrid K16's? K24/18's..K24/20's? gt28's? My thoughts are something that will give me the best performance from dead stop to say 100..130mph...light to light type playing..I know I will need a new reflash and maybe some work on fuel... again street playing only... advice needed.. thanks to all..
16/16g's or k24/18g will work well as a "basic' set up.
If your interested in something larger the Tial 3071's or Tial 3076's look very interesting and will we will be testing both in the up coming weeks.
Give Chris Green a call to discuss turbo options along with EPL software. He's local to you and can take you for a test ride in a k24/18g car!

K16 to K16/16G is a very cost effective upgrade and will likely give you the performance you want. But once you get whooped by an 18G car...and you will, you will have to upgrade again. Both turbos have the same performance but where the 16G quits, the 18G keeps on pulling.
you have to decide how much power you really want. If you are not planning on upping the fueling with larger injectors then the K16 hybrids are fine, but if you plan to upgrade then you will need something larger, so how much power are you looking at since you only want to do this once?
18G's, injectors, 5bar and you will be over 500whp. That will put you right up to the power level where you MIGHT consider an upgraded torque converter. Look at "Blackhorseturbos" signature. VERY impressive car.
