EVO Wastegate Rod

Well, the passenger side snapped again (second time). Anybody have any suggestions? Supposedly the new 'improved' version from EVO is snap proof. Can UMW send me a stock sent with the 1 bar springs? Got to hand it to Porsche, I never had any problems with the stock rods. Just needed a stronger spring.

I went with the UMW wastegate kit, and it re-uses the stock rods and diaphram....just changes out the internal spring and provides a threaded collar and machine screws to clamp it back together. Best $295 I ever spent on any mod.

When did you get this second set? We did have 2 different bad batches of rods over the past 6 months. We have isolated the problem and now use the exact same material as the OEM rod with the same bending procedure and cad plating process. I will be glad to send you out a set. Can you email me a photo of the broken rod? PM or email me your details and I will send them Monday.

Quick and impressive response. This is why I really support evo and plan to use them once my 996TT becomes a reality.

I appreciate the quick response. I got the second set sometime last September. I agree that the material and the bend in the rod is the issue. The minute it gets hot enough under there it fails. I'll take some pictures and send them back to your e-mail. PM sent. Thanks.
