Alignment after changing wheels?

Guys, does changing wheel sizes (say 18s to 19s) change anything in regards to the suspension that would need an alignment? Always wondered about that.

No alignment needed...however, if you want to make 19" tires last a little longer, you can opt for more neutral camber in the rear.

Great, thanks for the info!

Esp in the M3, I switch from 19s to 18s for winter setup, then back to 19s come spring...always wondered if that did anything to throw off the car a bit.

Sort of same question, should I get an alignment when I switch from snow tires to summers. Both sets are on 18 wheels, fronts same offset etc., but the snow rear is 10" and I use a 23mm spacer. Stock sizes 295/30/18 and 265/35/18 (snow) rears 225/40/18 fronts.

Alignment has to do with which way your wheels
are pointed. No tire change is going to affect that.
If you're street, you have a normal alignment,
suitable for essentially any tire for street driving.
If you're racing, and change from street tires to
race tires or vice versa, you may want to change
your alignment to accommodate the different
camber needs of the different tire types.
