Ducati Monster. Great torque, I thought it was pretty comfortable, neat looks, very easy to ride, great sound, and not your everyday Japanese bike.

evan - i hate the colors for 05 - if it cam in full yellow or red i would be in

to me the triumph daytona for 05 looks like a good bet - I am curious about a brit bike being trouble free though -Looks wise i think it is dynamtie

Darren,
If you must have a sport bike, go for the Honda CBR600. It has the best ergonomics, fit and finish and seating/riding position hands down.
If it were me, given your usage and expereince, I would go for a Ducati Monster 620.

I'm no triumph guru, but someone must know if they solved the issue with starter actuator (or something similar) that would break if the battery wasn't perfectly charged, needing the cases to be split to repair (major work). I know this is an issue with earlier Tigers ... too big of a problem to overlook. Someone may want to confirm they fixed it.

SV650.

Super fun bike and easily managable by a new rider. The torque of the vtwin is great around town.

I love you guys always getting me to buy something more than I wanted to spend

seriously though guys - i have only been riding for less than a year but want something new and sporty - want the look of a MV-ducati but in something reliable and 600CC range

Andreas I would prob get very hurt on those bad boys with my experience no ?
