New EPL dyno #'s!!!
and prices on 996 have fallen within range of those of us who like to tinker. Lightweight, AWD, more displacement, turbo from the factory, MAF equipped, fairly sturdy, handles and brakes great - what's not to like?
Sadly I seldom get over to Supraforums - too painful. I look forward to a renewed interest in things fast with this new to me car though!Oh, Tim got the green light from the owner to take it to the track carefully. Will be very interested to see what it traps! Tim, post up the dyno sheets if you can too

Nice to see so many familiar faces here!
Tim, congrats on the new numbers. I saw it over at SPI Friday, new owner should be happy.
You're lucky though I couldn't get over to Tym's Sat morning to show you my plate on the S4
Have you seen the Katrina car yet?

Thanks Scott, I appreciate it!!
Remind me to kick you in the ***** the next time I see you
Going to pickup the "katrina" car this Saturday I hope!!
I think you're the lucky one, as you would have seen that nice GT2 wing the whole time!!!
Thanks Chris!!

It sounds like there's limits with these cars that the Supra didn't have so I will probably manage to not get too crazy. My budget won't allow me to go too nuts either I'm afraid
I will be playing though I think so we'll see how it goes, I am looking forward to flying out and the long drive back. Maybe I'll even get the car to a road course and find out just how crappy I really drive - that would be humbling to say the least! As for the avatar - funny few people actually ask me
As Justin can attest if he can remember that far back I'm a pretty pale white dude, a bit fatter since he and I last met though. Handle is a long story from over 20 years ago and has stuck. Avatar is from an older forum software and was one of the defaults. I just REALLY liked the kid's attitude and use it most everywhere I post. Occasionally it leads to assumptions and even some slurs <shrug> Can't please everyone I guess. Hope that sorta' explains it
Guys, I added the dyno sheet to the first post. You can see that the horsepower was still climbing up until the boost dropped right after 6k rpm's. Its either the boost controller, or after having talked to some people and researching a little, it may be also due to the stock intake piping as well. Either way, the car runs strong, and I'm certainly pleased with what it has accomplished on the boost level it was run at.

The track that I will be taking the car too is VERY stingy on mph though, as on my IS300 I trapped 3 mph less with more boost than at a different track about 50 miles apart!!

Yup, looks like something's choking it alright. I've not seen enough 996TT sheets to know much about how the curve ought to look but to go from peak power down like that a restriction is a good bet IMO. I know the boost was dropping too so actually that could support that theory as well maybe. A handy dandy vac gauge plumbed in there somewhere ought to tell the tale. Could be piping, MAF, dirty air filter, who knows. I'm open to suggestions and I'll try to figure it out when we get it here. Puzzles are fun
