jacking rear of 996tt

Searched this and found some conflicting posts. Is it safe to jack the rear end of a 996tt by using the thick midline ridge on the engine, so that jack stands can be put in place? This doesn't hurt the engine mounts?

Yes, it is the correct way of jacking the rear. You can also put a block of wood between the jack and the motor.

Same as the way the 993 rear is jacked. I have both and use the same procedure on the 993 and 996.
