My personal 360 Forged Experience
I think the smaller companys take longer because they build as needed, they dont have the resources to keep large inventory ( $ ) thats what I heard, not sure if thats the truth behind the weeks of waiting.
Thanks!
Scott,
Thanks for the input. I understand exactly where you're coming from. However, I think that every set of wheels 360 made/makes/will make represents them so it wouldn't make sense for them to have varying levels of quality based on who the wheels are for. Thanks for the compliments though... I am anxious to get these installed.
Thanks Tucker! Nice vette btw
Scott,
Thanks for the kind words. I do have to say... these wheels have a great look to it and I do believe that the mesh8's are the best looking wheels on the Z06's and I hope they look just as good on the turbo. PM sent about the tpms issue.. I hope to avoid any leaks by understanding what you did to fix it.
I am trying to figure out a competent shop to get it done.
Tommy, forget the tires and just get them in is my suggestion. I'll be running Toyo T1R 235/35 and 315/25.
Doctor Joe, no problem... would love to meet up sometime to check out your 2 as well as your pepper.
Thanks Chris...you know me... all looks with some go
Bara, I am not sure how much room the 997 has vs 996 wb's but the biggest difference are the offsets.
Thomas, thanks for the constant support my friend!
+ 1
There are a lot of reliable manufacturers out there but I chose 360 as others have b/c of their design. I'm sure we're all aware that not all mesh designs are the same and obviously, I believed the return was greater than the "risk" and I"m glad I went with 360 and the mesh8's.
In terms of your question about why custom wheels take so long... I am not in the wheel industry but my biggest guess are 1) a lot of companies outsource the machining of the centers so unless you have the capital to own the machine and do everything in-house, you have to depend on another "source' to deliver on time 2) outsourcing probrably also means limited inventory on hand so when an order is placed, it has to be machined.
Haha...definitely buying used is the way to go

I'll admit those wheels look AMAZING!!!! Hopefully the problems that others have had will be remedied at this point. I'm glad you had a good experience, however you getting a "sponsor" type discount deal. They know that your car is going to represent them, therefore they probably took a little more care in making sure you got EXACTLY as asked with the best quality they could provide. The question is, will they provide that same service to the average person who they know wont be showing their car around other than normal use. Glad it worked out well for you other than the extra time that you had to wait though. I can't wait to see them mounted, they really are beautiful wheels!

That's great news, Edwin! I'm really glad to hear that you're happy.
My story is similar; but my wheels took 5 months. They are pretty much the most beautiful wheels I've seen on a Z06 (they get a ton of compliments), and I am extremely happy with them overall. I did have to relocate the TPM sensors since they had some slow leaks, but I have been told this is the case with a lot of custom wheels for Z06's...not just 360's.
That said, I do love the wheels, and Jordan was very polite the entire time. But...5 months was a very long time to wait.

wheels look good, but with so many other reliable manufacturers out there, why risk it with 360 forged and their tarnished reputation - this is for future customers...
anyways, why do custom wheels take so long to make anyway (this goes for all high end wheel manufacturers)? are they hiring blind nuns from the Himalayans to screw in each rivet or something? No seriously, i'm curious...from start to finish, if as in a race, how fast can one of these companies make a custom set of wheels?

They should (tires) be in route to 360 now, and I can only hope to have my wheels and tires mounted and balanced and back to me by weeks end.
^ This guy right here is the man. Thanks Dave!
I hope you get your wheels asap!
Mark, sorry to hear that you didn't have a good experience. Obviously, we don't want to commit and do things that we don't feel comfortable with.
Edwin
Edwin, Believe me..... I want the wheels in my possession in the worst way, but my deal included tires, and I won't take them any other way. I can't afford to spend another $1200-1500 on something that was included in my package deal.

Terribly sorry about that. Hopefully we can still try and earn your business.
the ball is, and always has been, in your court to make things work. I was offering you an opportunity to get good press for a fresh start (much like Edwin is trying to do). We all know that the amount of negative press out there with your "former" company is abundant and I saw this as an opportunity for both parties. This was especially true once I saw that you were OFFERING some type of special opportunity, then you decided to go against every promise your employee made and cut off all communication with the exception of making further excuses... I'm surely not going to chase you down to give you business. like I said, its up to you...
Guys
Be VERY careful with anyone related to 360 Forged and Jordan. I am still out a $3500 deposit refund and the 997 monoblock RSR wheels I sent them as templates. Those wheels are worth $8500 by themselves. At this point, I would not trust them with any of my business. Jordan told me that the refund AND my wheels were on the way to me. That was a month and a half ago.

Sad that people will still give them any business until all deposits are refunded and outstanding issues are resolved. Clean slate means just that clean slate...
Good luck to those who have outstanding issues out there with Jordan or any 360 related problems. I hope that you get it resolved.

1badgt2, where have you been with all the 360/Jordan threads we have had and our attempts to get members refunds? Would you please email your info to Adrian at Internet Brands (adrian.harris@internetbrands.com)...he is working with Jordan and Alain to resolve member issues and yours sounds like one of the worst...we would very much like you to be taken care of...
I can't comment on the status of other people's orders but only comment on my own. Long story short, I was told my wheels would take 4 weeks or so but ended up being 13 weeks. I was in constant contact with 360 every week and Jordan was good on keeping me in the loop of my order.
I will say that I've read (on here, corvette forum, mbworld) ALOT of negative things about 360, such as, "I heard they don't even have a shop anymore, their wheels are out of round, how you can buy these wheels direct from COR wheels."
I do know personally that after my own research, they DO have a legit shop. I had a buddy of mine that was supposed to pick up the wheels for me and he dropped by and due to a misunderstanding, wasn't able to pick up my wheels that day and couldn't go back until a week later, which is when I told Jordan just to ship my wheels (which shipped the same day as promised). He told me there is a shop with "360 forged" in front and there were people busy working.
A lot of the rumors that I have read, I personally went about to seek the truth from the source. Another example... people on Corvette forums were saying how 360 did nothing but put their centercaps on the wheels and that COR wheels did all the work (machine, assembly, etc) and that we can buy direct from COR. I called Tony @ COR directly and he told me that during their dispute with 360, they had some 360 wheels that they have machined in stock that they had to move,so they sold itwith the COR centercap. He confirmed to me that their business relationship with 360 has been restored and COR will not and cannot sell 360 wheel designs. Tony @ COR even told me that 360 does the assembly of the wheels.
There's a lot of misinformation going about on the boards and I highly encourage anyone that is interested to do their own research. If you don't believe 360...give Tony @ COR a call and ask him. More importantly, if you do not feel totally comfortable putting an order with 360 right now, I'd say don't do anything until 360 has personally earned your trust back.
I will say that I firmly believe that 360 was going through some growing pains but I still won't hesitate to order another set of wheels from them in the future. I can only speak for myself but 360 delivered for me.
