My personal 360 Forged Experience

I thought I'd take a minute and post up my personal experience with 360 Forged and Jordan. I did not get paid by Jordan to post this nor did I get paid by 360 competitors or any other outside influences. I am personally a paying sponsor as well so I will not jeopardize my own business by playing sides. I am aware that there are customers out there that are still waiting for their orders/refunds and I definitely feel for them.

On Feb 13th, I contacted Jordan on a set of Mesh 8's for my turbo. I haven't seen them on a 996 turbo before (which Jordan confirmed) so I asked him if he would sponsor me on a set of 19x8.5 and 19x12 brushed mesh8's. Through email correspondence and showing him pictures of my turbo Jordan agreed and we agreed on a price (no, I didn't get these for free). Jordan told me that he'd recommend I should do 19x11 or even 11.5 in the rears but I told him I wanted a wide rear and aggressive rear and I want to go 12's. Jordan agreed and he told me that if it didn't work (rubbing, too wide, etc), he will take it back and get me a 11/11.5 rear and ship it back to me but I had to cover was shipping costs. Definitely a fair deal…

Here’s my order:

360 Forged Mesh 8s
19x8.5” front with 2.5” lip
19x12” rears with 4.5” lip
Brushed/Chrome with black painted inner barrels

All was good... Jordan told me 3-4 weeks and I should have my wheels. This sounded great b/c when I ordered my HRE's, they told me 6-8 weeks so I was stoked. I wired half the money to Jordan the next day (Feb 14th) and started waiting.

Every week (on the Monday), I would email Jordan and he would respond within a day or two, updating me on my order. I'll be honest and admit when I started seeing all these threads about 360 and their delays/unfulfilled promises/problematic, rusted nuts, non-hubcentric wheels, I started to be concerned not to mention a little anxious.

4 weeks go by and I stop emailing and start calling Jordan about my order. Every time I called, I spoke to either Jordan, Ryan (customer service rep) or Evette (receptionist). Although there were delays...Jordan was honest in telling me they were not done yet but will be in a week or two.

Fast forward...10 weeks later, I pick up my wheels at the airport and take them out of the box. Mission accomplished... wheels look great, no rusted nuts, no missing nuts, inner barrels painted black as promised, face is brushed with no scratches/chips or any blemish...chrome lip is shiny and perfect.

My personal take on all this was that these are custom wheels and I've learned that patience is a virtue when it comes to car mods and DIYs and doing things right so I had no problems really waiting longer than expected... which I believe this is where the problem lies. Expectations... I was told to expect the wheels in 4-5 weeks...so when that time came and espeicially I was out a big money on deposit, I was getting anxious. If I was told from the beginning it would take 10 weeks, I wouldn’t have a problem with that.

Here are some pics I took to document the wheels and it’s build, fit and finish.

I measured the front and rears to make sure the specs were right. 8.5 front with 2.5" lip

12" rears with 4.5" lip

Brushed

Black inner barrels – great job on the paint in the inner barrel…no paint runs or anything

All lugs present and accounted for

Front fitment

Shot of the hubcentric center of the rim. No gaps at all

Shot of the front wheels

Onto the rear. This is where I was getting nervous to see if the aggressive rear decision was going to backfire on me.

Mounted up the rears… shot of the rear hub ring again

Shot of the side fitment

Top shot of the wheel hanging loose… once I put tires on them and put the car in the ground, it’ll camber in a little and it will sit pretty flush

For those in the Orange TPMS group buys, I’ll be mounting my tire sensor here. I’ll have to drill a hole to mount them.

Shot of the rear

Overall, it took 10 weeks with a few restless nights. Overall, I’m very satisfied and happy with the way these wheels came out. Although it took longer than I “expected”, I’m glad I chose these wheels.

I also want to give a plug for Tony @ COR. When Alain posted up that COR and 360 no longer had a dispute and am now working on fulfilling orders and when he offered the public to call Tony to confirm, I did just that. I told Tony my situation and he spent over
10 minutes on the phone with me discussing the situation. Thanks Tony!

I hope for everyone with outstanding orders and pending refunds/chargebacks that you all will get it very soon. I personally had a pleasant dealing with 360 and if Alain says they guarantee the wheels in 5 weeks or whatever it is, and if you can wait, these wheels are worth waiting for. Just my $0.02

I’ll post pics of the fitment and rest of the car when I get the tires in and the TPMS installed.

Thanks

Edwin

I'll admit those wheels look AMAZING!!!! Hopefully the problems that others have had will be remedied at this point. I'm glad you had a good experience, however you getting a "sponsor" type discount deal. They know that your car is going to represent them, therefore they probably took a little more care in making sure you got EXACTLY as asked with the best quality they could provide. The question is, will they provide that same service to the average person who they know wont be showing their car around other than normal use. Glad it worked out well for you other than the extra time that you had to wait though. I can't wait to see them mounted, they really are beautiful wheels!

That's great news, Edwin! I'm really glad to hear that you're happy.

My story is similar; but my wheels took 5 months. They are pretty much the most beautiful wheels I've seen on a Z06 (they get a ton of compliments), and I am extremely happy with them overall. I did have to relocate the TPM sensors since they had some slow leaks, but I have been told this is the case with a lot of custom wheels for Z06's...not just 360's.

That said, I do love the wheels, and Jordan was very polite the entire time. But...5 months was a very long time to wait.

Edwin,

As far as the TPMS goes, who is going to end up mounting them in the wheel?

They look great Edwin. I can't wait to get mine. We literally placed our orders the exact same day! lol
Not that it matters much since you have them now, but it has actually been 13 weeks and not 10.

What kind and size tires will you be running?

wheels look good, but with so many other reliable manufacturers out there, why risk it with 360 forged and their tarnished reputation - this is for future customers...

anyways, why do custom wheels take so long to make anyway (this goes for all high end wheel manufacturers)? are they hiring blind nuns from the Himalayans to screw in each rivet or something? No seriously, i'm curious...from start to finish, if as in a race, how fast can one of these companies make a custom set of wheels?

Yeah, just as a casual observer here, MONTHS seems like a LONG time to wait for wheels...I guess I am content to buy used, it's cheaper and not that long to wait...
