New 2003 996 TT

Hello,

I am new to the Porsche 911 racing world. I have a well-taken-care-of 2003 996 TT with 28K miles on it. Never raced. I am from DC area and had TPC Racing do a Revo Stage 1 ECU tuning and custom tuning. I am contemplating a suspension upgrade AND exhaust upgrade. I am totally new to this and am a HUMAN surgoen not a CAR surgeon do sany input is greatlly appreciated. I do not mind getting my hands dirty..by the way...Tyson

welcome. You will get great info and help here even though it may be painful to your wallet. I am a huge fan of the Europipe exhaust having had them on 2 previous turbo coupes and now on the cab. The quality and sound without noticeable drone is really hard to beat IMO even though there are several other mtg's represented here. Google them as Europipe exhaust and visit their website and then talk with Stef, one of the owners. I'll let others give you suspension tips. Also check out Tom Ker on this site, also an MD. He was really helpful to me on my last car and a great guy to know. Good luck.

Welcome to the 6.

What is your driving experience level? Have you done any DE's in this car? It's a little hard to advise you without knowing that.

To the rest I'd add - what is your goal? Are you simply looking for a little more power? Track days? Do you have a firm budget? do you know what drone is? Will Revo retune after your exhaust is done? It is possible you may need additional tuning after freeing the exhaust side up.

Finding an aftermarket exhaust that FLOWS and does NOT drone is looking tough. The exhaust on my car drones a bit and I too may make a change or attempt to fix this. We'll see what the girlfriend thinks before I get to buying anything.
