Anyone know this car? 02 Blk/Blk TT lease return Fall 08 So Cali

Looking for info on this car:

2002 Blk/Blk 996 Turbo lease return Marina Del Rey, CA. at the time of the return had 34,xxx miles, originally purchased at Pacific in Torrance serviced at Walters and Newport (have service records up until 14,xxx miles after that it's a mystery). Car has (re-sprayed, no color sand) GT2 nose, spolier, Techart wheels, PSS9, Tubi exhaust. I was "told" owner turned in car for GT3. Passed PPI with flying colors, but missing records between 14,xxx and 34,xxx. Looks like clutch was replaced...looking for service history after 14,xxx miles and who worked on the car. Would like to fill in missing pieces of the puzzle and what else has been done to this car. IF you know this car or were the owner, please email me at:

tbolen@socal.rr.com

Cheers!

I don't know anything about the car, but it sounds BEAUTIFUL with tastefull mods. I'm a huge fan of the Tubi exhaust. How much are you able to get it for? Run a Carfax, it might tell you some of the missing information if it was reported through insurance companies.

Well, let's put it this way, I've been searching coast to coast for a 996TT for the last 9 months, looking for the right car at the right price. I finally found it and was able (IMO) to steal it due to current market conditions . Carfax is clean, shows some service history, but after 14,xxx miles nothing but the normal emission checks. I had a another So CA dealer run the VIN and nothing other than the service on Carfax shows up. Anything after 14,xxx miles is a TOTAL mystery.

Thanks for responding....hopefully someone knows this car

Duc5150,
One last suggestion would be to go to a Porsche dealership and go to the service counter and give them the VIN # of the car and see if they can pull up any repairs or service history on this car directly through Porsche. They should be able to tell you any thing as long as it was done at an authorized Porsche Dealer/repair center. If you got the info that you already posted from a dealer, then chances are any repairs/maint. was performed independently which would be impossible to verify. If you pass on this car, please PM me the info on it because I'm just like you, I'm just waiting for the right car at the right time for the right price. Good Luck!

Call or walk into Pacific and/or Walters. If you are friendly enough, you can get the info of the previous owner. While they are not supposed to release that info, it all depends on how well your negotiation/people skills are. (I have done it for my car and another car I was looking to purchase and it worked like a charm.)

Sometimes with these leased cars, I have known owners who don't even change the spark plugs or do any sort of preventative maintenance.

Call that person and get the info.

Been down all those roads, dealer records, carfax, etc. I know who the original owner was, but he didn't do any of the work. I had the VIN ran at another dealer and got some of the history before 14,xxx miles. Zip after that. Independent shop must have taken over from there. Somebody did the suspension, nose, spoiler, and replaced the clutch, but not a dealer since nothing shows up on dealer records after 14,xxx miles Does need the 30k service, but PPI came out great (other than the service). Would love to find the independent shop that did the work. Thanks for the suggestions...keep them coming-
