Softronic Question..

Ok, so I've uploaded the new tune on my car from Softronic and made a few runs on the highway. I also made a few just fefore the install for comparison.

Stock max Bar in 4th = .8 bar

After Softronic Tuned install = .8 Bar

Butt dyno says it feels the same.

Any ideas? Is this a program that learns and builds up after a few days, or should the change be instant?

Help!

My tune isn't softronic, however once it was loaded it was an immediate difference (1.1-1.2 bar) and the butt dyno definitely told me a tune had taken place. My guess is the flash didn't load, however not being familiar with the softronic loading procedure I can't offer you any advice except to ping Dan @ vivid. They may still be online for assistance...

butt dyno means not much. Also, what conditions did you do your stocker run? was it cold weather? vs warmer weather? having said that, you should be seeing a bit more boost. do you have stock exhaust?

also did you get a hold of softronic or whomever their rep is that sold it to you?

The conditions were near identical. I did the stock run about 20 minutes before the tuned run.

65 degrees - clear

Stock exhaust, Agency Power intake.

Will try Dan.

OK,

I've written to Dan at Vivid and back to the Softronic guy that sent me the tuned file.

We'll see what they have to say about this.

cool. it should get sorted out. You definitely need an aftermarket exhaust. It really brings these motors alive with the tune.

+1 I followed the advice here and did exhaust before the tune as well

to add my .02...the tune should be instant...sure there is some ECU learning, but you should see boost 1.1 at least...hope you get it sorted.

i've a softronic tune and i see 1.2 bar ... may be somehow is wrong during the upload?

alex911s Jun 1, 2009 10:41 PM

Ive felt it on a regular 997... on a Turbo it should be a big change...

GT3 Chuck Jun 2, 2009 12:29 AM

why don't you get it from the horses mouth...in this case Scott Slauson at Softronic:

sounds to me like the factory tune is still in the dme. I can see this being the most likely cause of the problem.

BlackHorseTurbo Jun 2, 2009 06:38 AM

PM me if you'd like. I happen to be an expert at loading a Softronic tune. :)

Imolas54 Jun 2, 2009 06:39 AM

I would double check to make sure you didn't upload the stock file instead of the tune file or they may have named the files incorrectly.

$manager Jun 2, 2009 07:10 AM

No big deal. Looks like the file did not upload. Just call Scott and he will sort it out. No need to panic....
