Question on 996 power needed for C6Z06
I also have a stock 2006 Z06. It feels a lot stronger than my 02TT which is also stock. I would like to close the gap betweeen the two. My TT had an after market exhaust on it which I took off and put the stocker back on. It was too loud. I did notice the car was slower after putting the stock exhaust on.
The streets out here in Vegas are really slippery since it hardly rains. I think the 996 would have an advantage being all wheel drive, but it lacks power and is heavier than the Z06. I'm thinking 550 crank would make it a drivers race and 575 crank should just edge the Z out. Looks like I'm going to have to step up to new turbos.

if you want an extremely high flow, very quiet exhaust go for the EP quiet. Flows like a ***** and won't rattle your teeth out. Great impression on the two cars and you might be right on the money about it. The 996 being 300 lbs heavier would have to be making at least 50 bhp more just to be equal.
I will say this. I also had a C5 Z06 with a ATI supercharger on it. that car had every bolt on imaginable + heads and Cam but stock internals. I use to track that car and it would eat most 966's, especially around turns where the turbos had to spool up. that car was around 700hp. Its not a fair comparison, but good info non the less
