If the car wasn't sitting around for 5 days and it's not the fob battery then it’s the fob itself. I’ve had that. Buy a new one and have it programmed.

Prepare to be shocked....the dealerships usually charge $150 just to program a freakin' key....if you know someone in the service department, they can do it for you for less....but if you don't....bring your VISA. Seems rediculous to charge that much to program a key.

So I looked at my key and I have a yellow light when I push the button, what does the red light that the op sees when he uses his key mean?

probably just the color of the lens that's over the light bulb....I've not seen a yellow light before....always red, but the light is just a visual signal to let you know the battery is working so the color shouldn't be a big deal. As long as your remote works, all is good.
