A couple of more recent threads that have some good comments on named brands --here on 6 Spd---KPG comments on Evo vs B-6 --that has some real back to back that is really interesting. On Rennlist--997 TT thread( near enough identical i/c's and issues) TB's thread contains AWE details and some REAL testing --plus another thread on custom cores made up and the results( still very current) .
yes, some people look at it as a gain. some don't. I agree with you. It's the same with using 91 octane on a pump gas file for 91. On hot days or with worse fuel than normal the ecu pulls timing and you loose power. Using a 93-95 mix doesn't gain you power, but it keeps the ecu from pulling timing so you retain the power you should have had. KPG's results were interesting, but they are for a monster motor build running huge numbers in an extremely hot place(hell). There would not be anywhere near that much difference in a lesser power motor in a slightly cooler place.

did not read awe's results.
