Lazy man's question- which Pumas are those, and where did you get them? I need a new pair of driving shoes and am having a tough time finding race cats.

Someone on Rennlist suggested the Onitsuka Tiger Tai Chi shoes as another option. I bought some and they are great driving shoes that you can wear into a restaurant, etc. without looking like you are trying to be Joe Racer. Sticky, thin rubber sole that you can feel the pedals through. Compact size so that they do not catch pedals.

Another great option is boat shoes.

Those Pumas are called "Klim".
I am actually looking at buying another pair. Up close, they are very technical looking with very cool design features and fabrics. They have a thin sole, upturned heel and really work well as a "CASUAL" driving shoe.
They are modeled after climbing shoes. The front is rubber and the stripe is rubber.

but i remember once reading and article on Rolex and how it attracts people with money as oppossed to people who actually want a great performing watch. I honestly can't remember what the company was called but they were just saying that they make watches that are almost double the quality of a rolex and about 25% less price. Its just that rolex has built such a name for themselves that any Joe Millionaire thinks they have the worlds best watch just cause it cost $10,000
im not bashing rolex. just when u said that i recalled reading that article

I own a pair of these shoes and have used them at the track. They are fantastic shoes. Light but not so thin your feet are killing you at the end of the day and very supportive. I like the tread design and the quality is good.
For those of you who think the only driving shoes must be piloti or sparco need to wake up to the competition. These guys are producing great driving shoes for a good price.

I bought a pair of Pilotis and after less than 5 times wearing it the threads, etc. started to come loose ... really ****ty quality shoe IMO ... you can get better spending $10 bucks at Big 5.
Have some FILA racing shoes that do the job much better (plus look cool too).

puh-lease, the cardinal rule of buying things is to go to the company that does it as a specialty,
i would have thought most people would have learned by now
thats why you buy a rolex watch instead of a loius vuitton watch,
a porsche instead of a car from a company that also makes appliances,
and suits from companies that have made them for decades.
and no, the beer ad slogan 'reassuringly expensive' should never be applied to anything.
and if someone reading doesn't see a problem with any examples ive mentioned,
then they need to learn more about high end purchasing.
especially when it comes to clothes, when one sees past the typical sartorial rules,
the biggest mistake one can make, that is often overlooked, but never forgotten, is buying 'poseurwear'

oakley most likely doesn't do the manufacturing of these
that being said, you can't necessarily judge a product because it's not a "big name" Sounds more snobish then anything, esp. considering you haven't even put the shoes on.
Trojan, of course that man was keen on oakely gear, his teams livelyhood depended on it.
you don't really think micheal schumcher and barichello all chainsmoke marlboros...
anyways, i'm just being blunt with my opinion, if you don't agree with it, fine, but don't resort to personal attacks, that shows you are even less mature than you claim i am, based arbitrarily on my age.
