puh-lease, the cardinal rule of buying things is to go to the company that does it as a specialty,

i would have thought most people would have learned by now

thats why you buy a rolex watch instead of a loius vuitton watch,

a porsche instead of a car from a company that also makes appliances,

and suits from companies that have made them for decades.

and no, the beer ad slogan 'reassuringly expensive' should never be applied to anything.

and if someone reading doesn't see a problem with any examples ive mentioned,
then they need to learn more about high end purchasing.

especially when it comes to clothes, when one sees past the typical sartorial rules,
the biggest mistake one can make, that is often overlooked, but never forgotten, is buying 'poseurwear'
i DONT agree with most of it..

plan to enjoy my new oakley's my 2 sets of pilotis. which are falling apart a bit. and as many other shoes that i find interesting. and although i have many watches including 3 rolex's. i think that my favorite is made by a compass company... and my second favorite is made by a jap electronics company... "puh-lease" ?? enjoy your choices everyone..!

well you are certainly entitled to your opinion, but you are wrong

its evident that money doesnt buy or indicate taste,

intelligence is not a prerequisite for seniority

nor does youth denote inexperience.

no one really, im just trying to liven things up, get the blood flowing

some people were inching up on the age factor.

anyways, i can't force my opinion on someone, but sometimes i do feel the need to either express mine, or , when there is no grey area, tell someone they are wrong.

anyway, i'm tired of riding on this tense edge, lets all just agree to disagree

Wow. I wore OT's when I ran track in high school. Man that was a VERY long time ago.

Didn't know they were still around, but was one great lightweight track shoe.

that was my suggestion on rennlist, they are GREAT shoes, best trainers ever.

ive got 3 pairs of the OT Tai Chi's in various colours, they are impossible to find now, most sizes/colours are sold out, its because of the film Kill Bill.

911 turbo, this is silly, im going to just forget about it, i suggest you do the same., no sense in you spending any more time and effort to chase down all my posts and make smart-*** comments. (time is tickin' old man :: )

as for the shoes, classic sport shoes sells them, but they only have them in tiny sizes.

Lol moogle ure such an uppercrust guy.
But what about Cartier watches???? I believe thats a company that also dabbles in fragrance as well as having sartorial ventures. They're also known for jewelry design I believe. Breitling, Cartier, PP, Omega, even Gucci and LV, among others make good quality products. They just add their own exterior styling to a pretty much universally used internal product. If Im not wrong, they all use swiss movement just like Rolex does (for most of their watches).
As far as clothing and haute cotoure go, oldest doesn't necessarily mean the best. Ive got a few friends in the garnment manufacturing industry. One friend in particular produces for both Nordstroms (medium end) and rampage (low end) and the quality for the most part is the same. Ok so youll say I only buy Giorgio Armani, and pa leeeeeeeeeez I dont buy collezioni, only black label. Trust me they are both produced from the same manufacturers, with for the most part same materials, just different design. Besides, top designers jump ship all the time. Perfect case in point, Heidi Slimane was a neophyte before he turned CD into a powerplayer in the haute cotoure industry. I dont think he has that many decades under his belt. Even Tom Ford (I think formerly with Gucci) couldnt possibly have more than 3 decades tops, in design. So by your argument we should only buy clothes designed by that old fart K Lagerfeldt for Chanel because he is 60 years old. Doesnt really hold water. THEY ALL USE THE SAME MANUFACTURERS.
I dont really know much about Oakely, but I like the shoes posted above. Id be willing to give em a go!
Ps I have three Rolexes (2 in mint condition)and none of them tell time as accuratly as my 15 year old seiko quartz. Actually any quartz would be more accurate than any swiss movement watch looooool.

but i remember once reading and article on Rolex and how it attracts people with money as oppossed to people who actually want a great performing watch. I honestly can't remember what the company was called but they were just saying that they make watches that are almost double the quality of a rolex and about 25% less price. Its just that rolex has built such a name for themselves that any Joe Millionaire thinks they have the worlds best watch just cause it cost $10,000

im not bashing rolex. just when u said that i recalled reading that article
Just go to Geneva and they laugh at Rolex and the Americans who buy them.

I talked to a dealer about this material. It is not nomex but can withstand a blow torch and creates an "O2 less" environment internal to the fabric and will not burn. This is of course patented by Oakley. This is of course also "dealerspeak" as best I can tell. I also tried the shoes on and they fit my foot very well indeed. However, there isn't really a part of the sole that side wraps for the heel-toe on the MTP junction of the lateral forefoot, and second, the sole is kind of thick and firm unlike a really good racing shoe. Oakley overall makes a good product.
