Pulling the car on a trailer
Adam I really like your wheels are they HRE p40's? and what is the finish on them? Thanks everybody for the suggestions. Tom I will gladly look you up when I get to FL, I would really like to participate in some DE and pca events and from what I have read over the last year you would be a perfect person to talk too.
As others have said, tape anything that you can see while your eyes are about level with the bottom of the windshield. Sort of like you're looking at every point that stands out when measuring your total frontal area. Also tape the rear of the car, as you'll be bound to get some variances in weather so you don't want any dirt/road spray coming up from the trailer's tires.
DJM,
Yes they are P40's in flat gunmetal, match up great with a lighter colored car. They also hide brake dust well and don't look dirty after a day of driving. Vivid has a set in flat or textured black for sale in the vender classifieds section.

Adam, thats a great looking wheel, are those 19's ? I should be loading up the car on wednesday or thursday and I have just another question. Marty you reccomend some additional straps, are these something that are sold at autozone or walmart or where did you find yours when you got some?
Yes they are 19" with 315/25's on the back and 235/35 on the front. They also have 7mm spacer to make them more flush with the fender (no rubbing) and the car is lowered. If you look really close you can see the spacer, its the white line where the wheel meets the hub.
Not sure on the straps, I actually drove the car back so didn't use any. I'd be very suprised if either wal-mart or autozone did not have them. If neither does maybe Lowes/HD?

I would also be carefull loading the car onto the U-Haul Trailers. You may want to look at another company to rent from. The Uhaul trailers have a very tall center wheel guide that scraped across the whole undercarreage of my S4, its lowered but by no means slammed, so I'm assuming your ride height is either the same or lower. It wasn't a huge deal for me, I just sprayed the area with some undercarriage paint but on a porsche I would be pissed.
If you are able to back up the trailer to your driveway so the ramps are flat you should be fine, its just the load/unload I would worry about.
Good Luck

I LOVE that car. I sold it a year ago for my 997TT. The new owner of my 996TT is thinking of selling it. In 1 year he drove 1000 miles only LOL. Such a great car. I wish I could buy it back if I had dough for 2 Porsches.
vividracing: I own the same truck in the same color and the same trailer...mine is a 17.6'; kind of hard to tell what length yours is? I was at TX2K9 with my truck and trailer and supra (sig) too just in case you saw me. Next year (TX2k10), I plan to drive my porsche from MD to TX for the event and then back home once the event ends.... can't wait!
