In-Car Phone Removal

Sure can
The kneepad would make a good place to mount an iPod
I'm not looking to do that myself as I'm not switching the navi unit yet but it's definately possible and easy to mount an iPod there
The pad looks similar to a standard one, but has a thicker front face which tapers away towards the rear. I guess it's about 3-4 inches thick at the front where you would mount it
I'll take some pictures tomorrow when it's light (it's just gone 23:30 here)

dgreen - I've taken some pictures of the kneepad so you can see where you could mount your iPod

best bet is to upload them to your gallery, and attach the URLs of the images. Maybe not the best way, but at least you know that they'll stay attached to the post ... for eternity.

Thanks for the pics! Too bad yours is on the wrong side
I did find a company called Kuda that makes them but the leather doesnt match at all in the car. If anyone has one of these lying around their not using I will take it.

I just bought a used 08-997 TT and to my shock and disbelief, I have the silly handset included - That's the first thing I need to do - get rid of it and install a bluetooth and Aux/ipod hookup
I am thinking of taking it to the dealer to make sure its a clean job but any help to avoid a dealer-rip-off will be greatly apprecaited
thanks very much

I would think you could just get the no-phone cover for the passenger side and just leave the connector sitting inside (as it is on the cars that don't have the phone option), but if you post pics, I can compare it to mine and identify what's different.
