Folks-

Well it is a slightly used Ruf VIN, but in incredible shape. Previous owner did some sensable modifications, like installing Brembo GTR 8 piston brakes (front and rear). The 996 ****pit is so much nicer IMHO than the 997 - more like a sports car, not a GT. Lower seating than on my GT3RS - more like my old 996 GT3s.

The car drives like my GT3RS, but is more solid, but with much more power with the 'Nardo' engine. Not like my 997 turbos - much more immediacy and again - absolutely planted at high speed.

I love this car - here are some photos at the 'farm' inside the beltway.

Hope you like the car, I love it (although 'yellowbird' yellow is not my favorite color) - Gerry...sorry for the number of photos...more may follow...

Is this the car that Ruf had for sale for some time in Dallas ? My friends and I were in the car at their recent Driver's Ed event outside Dallas.

It's a great car, The Ruf guys took good care of it. I thought it had super acceleration, braking, handling and the list goes on and on. I flew down from the northeast to take a look at some Ruf cars that I bought and was able to see a ton of other special cars.

I like everything about RUF's except the rims. Just a great looking and well built P-Car.

Beautiful but looks narrow. Maybee because of the different location of vents?

adam699-

It is the width of the 996 Turbo body shell, but also comes as a narrow 996, andcan also be ordered as an ultra-wide version (see http://www.competition-llc.com/index-1.html as an example).

I think that the lack of ducts located forward on the arches, like in the 996 turbo, makes it look narrow. The rationale from Ruf was that that placing the ducts farther back provided a shorter path for the air to get to the intercoolers.

I really like the very wide end 911s, like the RSRs of old, and I miss that look in the car, but only until I crank up the ignition and take off. It is a great car.

I thought Ruf makes it that way because the narrow body 911's have a higher top speed.
