Upgrade from TJW mod-

I have had 1" holes drilled in my stock exhaust for a few months and opened them up to 2.5" which further enhanced the sound. I'm thinking of going with a full exhaust 100 or 200 CEL variant.

Have any of you made the jump and what were your experiences (better power, quicker spool, less resonance). I would probably also get the stage 2 tune from EPL as I only have 1 now.

Thanks - Mark

I Went with the FabSpeed 200 Cell Gen II Combo and am very please. However I would NEVER have bought it new ($2995! Who do these people think they are?). Saying that it is a great system and I love the sound and flow. A good compromise in Sound versus performance. I Paid just under $800 for it with 1500 miles on it, basically like new with Tips!.

My Original decision was based on availability used, I simply waited and read the Reviews on the system then pulled the trigger. So check the "For Sale" section here and on other forums and make a decision. Unless you have lots of cash of course, and money is truly no object then get a new one. After 1 week they all look the same tarnished SS anyway.

Here are some photos.

I've got the TJW mod and was thinking of going with a Fabspeed... How is the drone with the Fabspeed? If there is any...? $800 seems like an awesome price, did you find that in the 6speed classifieds? I'm not a super-rich-baller-guy, so used is definitely ideal for me . I've seen a couple of used systems going for the $1500-$1600 range, so I don't want to pay too much if I can get it sub $1000

I have the Speedtech 60mm exhaust and really like it. Nice and quiet at start up and cruising speeds will open up when you floor it.

I think its one of the best prices/buy for a new exhaust.

I am the J. Thanks guys.

I have Tym Switzer's unit. I like it quite a bit..sounds like a GT3 and is on a few very high powered cars with great success....KPG has one I think on his EVO9x0 unit/car with a UMW motor that revs to something GT3 like... With it at VIR I had instructors say it sounds like their GT3s' and was the "best" turbo they had ever heard. This in a place with a few 993 gt2's, 930man's gt2, Mikelly's machine, etc. Lots of very nice machines...cup cars, etc.

It is not cheap but it is worth it.

My other favorites exhausts are (in no order):

GMG's crossover (great guys)
Speedtech's Xcross (you get the ability to change things over and get a cross over...and John is super nice)
UMW's crossover...a few are out there...
Europipe units.....heavy, but the gold standard in quality (I think Switzer's is equal frankly...to be honest, but no one will ever argue that a Europipe is not top of the pile material).

Just my opinions. Check out youtube. Hold onto your wallets.... I posted my unit as jcbmemphis on YouTube.

The TJW was and is the best "dollar for dollar" option...but once you get the bug....

Have any of you made the jump and what were your experiences (better power, quicker spool, less resonance). I would probably also get the stage 2 tune from EPL as I only have 1 now.

Thanks - Mark
Can you show me on the mod
do you drill straight thru until there is no resistance

Just punch through per the drawing, but it’s hard because you are drilling on a bent pipe. Sound improved, but still corked up and power hit. Suggest getting a proper exhaust and tune, you won’t be sorry, although a bit of money.

Old thread revival!
