Indeed. I've noticed that sports cars can have seasonal swings in prices as much as 10-20%

You're dealing with David Magness with this deal right? He usually does the online stuff for the Dallas branch of the Texas auto mall. They're their own credit union. They do offer great deals on cars and are usually prices below what you would find a similar car for on a dealer lot. They treat their cars evry well and all are kept in a secure and covered garage behind their building.

Thats an excellent price for that car and they are a trustworthy company. They will also be able to flex a bit on the price of the car. You'll most likely have to send them a $1000.00 deposit to hold the car for a few weeks to show that your serious though.

I've worked with tem before and this car appears to be worth the trip.

Interesting. The gentleman I communicated with goes by the name of Paul. But thank you for your recommendations!

My 03 TT

It sounds like a good price... I guess I disagree with some of the other post.... I like to see a solid history, I don't care how great the car is. Cars Break! Multiple owners and lease holders generally don't care.. Your the only one that has to be happy with the price. I paid 51k for an 03 with 22K with a binder of all the service records, warranty service, new tires and 1 owner. He was asking 60K. I found better prices out there but this car still had the floor mats in the package and not a scratch on it. In the end, it's your money. I would try to get that price down into the 41, 42 range... From my experience..... There is always another car for sale! Good luck!

Can you tell us more about them? The dealership has its own credit union? Pardon my ignorance but how'd they manage that?? And what kind of credit union is it? Can anyone join? Thanks...

The name of the place is Credit Union of Texas Auto Mall. The one being discussed here happens to be the Dallas branch, but I believe there are several others throughout the state.

I think they started out as a regular credit union and then got into auto sales somehow and have been doing that auto sales part of it for some time now. It really can make it convenient for someone that needs to buy and get financing in one shot. I didn't use them for financing as I was able to get a better rate through my own CU. However, when you go to their office, it's an office building environment, not a car dealer environment. If I remember correctly, they're on the 3rd or 4th floor and you will need an appointment to stop by and see the cars.

When I was there I was surprised at the quality of the cars they had for sale. No real junkers. Most are newer and almost all in excellent condition.

They do accept trade ins. However I don't think they'd accept just any car for a trade in. It needs to be newer and in great condition and something they think would be representative of the quality of vehicles they would like to sell and sell easily.
