NEW LEAD on a cf hood !

Hi guys..

.. i found this website that carries oem style carbon fiber hoods for our cars.. the quality seems to be pretty nice, i even went there today to check it out.. the quality is better than mashaw's hood in my opinion... and it is at a great price....

they are currently selling it for 473.00 per cf hood, yes that's not a typo... 473.00 plus tax and shipping of course... currrently they have a sale on their website which you can get 20% off list price of any cf parts.. the price minus the 20% off will be 378.00 plus tax & shipping...

I will be test fitting the cf hood on my car this friday i will take pics and post it here. to see how the fitment is on our cars

i am not affliated with them just found them through the net..

pls. pm me for the info

told you guys i'd make hoods if we could set something up but apparently, I dont have the ability to do so. 473 for a cf hood is a joke. I'd have nearly double that cost materials.

not to be mean.. but you cant organize a group buy since ur not a sponsor, be a sponsor first then organize a group buy...

id rather spend 380 buxs than 800 for a mashaw cf hood....,

if yur hood is really top quailty, why dont you make one even without a group buy and show us how great your product is before you bash other people's work...

then if you are able to sell your high quality hood .... good for you.. i may even get one in the future..

my. 02 cents

No reason to charge more than $400 for a CF hood anyway. Anymore then that and they are ripping you off just because it is made for a porsche. Now I would spend big money on a name like techart making a CF hood but for an unknown brand that price is decent.

Is it in fact a full carbon fiber hood or is it just a stock hood skinned with a sheet of CF? BTW, the stock hood has some extensive bracing on the underside of it for obvious reasons, make sure this one does as well and if possible ask if you can road-test it and do some triple digit runs to make sure it doesn't deform.

It does look nice, but I am with you Amir. I think it is just a stock hood with a sheet of CF. But I would be happy to be wrong.

Is there any weight savings or is this just a cosmetic thing ?

If it is a full CF hood with supports, it should have significant weight savings. We just did a CF kit for an IS300 recently, and the hood was very well made, all CF other than supports, and could be easily carried by one person.
