oil level issue

well, have a '03 x50tt with recent mods, ecu,intake/exh,DVs,etc and noticed that the rpm is >1000 on park and i can't measure oil level unless i goto D or R and hold brake, to bring rpm down to about 800 or so, then the car thinks it's in idle mode and reads the oil level, WHICH is so full that all BARS are lit... i just had it changed at BBI ....is it ok to have oil that topped off?

That's how mine is when I get it back from an oil change, all the bars are full. I won't worry about it BBI is a good shop they know what their doing.

oil level, burn rate

ok..that's good to know....
i plan on changing the oil every 5K with the m1 5-50 but wandering whether any of you actually have to fill/top off before a change....
i mean, how much does the typical 996 TT burn ? qt every 2500? i mean for normal daily driving, not tracking...

Have in mind that TT engines are twin turbo...so almost half of burned oil at 1000miles is burned in turbos...its not the engine responsible for all oil consumption...Oil level should be kept BETWEEN lower and upper point at all times...No more,no less than that...

I use about a quart between oil changes which is between 3000 and 5000 miles, but I track my car.
