Negative ghostrider, it has been a while, but you're a little off glideslope.

iA had me turning the wastegates until the threads were maxed on a new install, this part is true. This is because we could not get the 1.2 bar I was supposed to, more like .8bar with milliseconds of .9 bar between shifts. Now you have to ask yourself, why is that? I worked with iA for 6 months (2 more turns on the wg's) to try and resolve this (no joy). I did email GIAC a couple of times asking if there was a high altitude program, no response. iA confirmed there wouldn't be much luck in that. I wont get into why you guys parted ways, that's between you two.

Eventually my turbos did grenade, for a couple reasons, my evoms wastegate rod snapped, the theory is that sent the other side into overspin, but cranking the wastgates down to try and get 1.2bar didn't help either. Bottom line is I would have never seen 1.2bar because the program simply wasn't asking for it, at least not at 6000' with 91 craptane. When my turbos $hit the bed, it definitely wasn't Stephens brightest moments, no excuses but he did have allot going on, (those who know, know, everyone else can speculate). Either way, I ended up having to contact his vendors on his behalf for support. That's when I called you, evoms and everyone else.

Now you did answer the phone, I'll give you that, but when I asked you if you made a high altitude program, what did you say? You said no, I asked if you would make a custom one for me...again, no. Thats when I was done with GIAC. You also said I didnt need one and that there are plenty of GIACs running at 6000'. I knew of half or dozen or so who did at one time, but went elsewhere for the same reason.

Since then, I installed the UMW 2c kit (I know, start the vendor wars). The first thing Kevin told me to do is get a durametric for datalogs for tuning, which was a surprise. Surprise because this was the first thing Stephen/You should have suggested, I would easily have spent the $250 to help resolve the problem.

I dont want to start a war or to take food off your table, think of it as free constructive feedback, we are telling you that your product has a problem, perfect opportunity for you to adapt and overcome...or not.

This is not true. I know its been a while but if you recall you were not getting satisfaction from the shop that you were working with and that once you contacted us, we immediately jumped in to help. You told me at the time that you had to switch to UMV or they would not warranty the turbos they had built.

I also remember how you were not getting the boost that you had before your turbo and wastegate upgrade. You told me that the shop told you to keep turning the nut on the waste gate until the boost came on but it never did. You had the wastegates clamped shut and the car still would not make boost. You moved to a different companies chip that came with new turbos and wastegates. I am glad your car runs well now but your test with the wastegates proved that the program was not the issue. If the wastegate is cranked all the way down and you are still not getting boost the ECU is out of the equation. The ECU has no power over the turbos at that point.

Boost is and will continue to be controlled by the ECU.

Think of it this way, now you have a custom tune, not an off the shelf tune and that is most important.

Garrett Lim most certainly exists, I've met him several times. What does someone not posting have to do with anything? We can only exist if we post? Guess I've got that covered!

Having receive $100,000's (?) in sales from this site, resulting in a lot of disgruntled customs as he never stepped up to the plate (not motivated or not capable) when his programming failed to deliver.

Posting was the only option for communicating as the general paying pubic had no method of phoning GIAC - they hid for years behind the distribution channel curtain. Glad to see he's hired a front man (finally) to try and give a better impression. More than likely to late for many as a lot of bridges have been burned.

Never had any issues with GIAC programming in my previous 6 cars. I've always been able to get ahold of either Todd@AWE or Jeff Moss if I needed to talk to anyone.

I think the point is custom tune over off the shelf flash. I am sure most of the top tuners can provide an excellent custom tune, Proto, Evoms, UMW, EPL.

I agree, a custom tune is the only way to go. Every car is a little different as well as fuel. Colorado has some of the worst in country with its 91 craptane. This and altitude MUST be accounted for. A tuner that does not want to see datalogs isn't a tuner but more a retailer.
