Issues With GIAC Flash - Waiting 3 MONTHS Getting Frustrated

As many of you know, I upgraded the following components about 1,000 miles ago.

Hitachi MAF
Tial 2860RS Turbos
60lb Injectors
GIAC Flash

This issue has been sorted out: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ess-story.html

I had this setup from EVOMS, it was a GT 700 with the Hitachi Maf and GIAC tune. Had many problems including the car dying at lights, stop signs etc... Unfortunately, it seem like the only cure was to find another tuner. I choose Todd at Protomotive. I am certain he might even have a copy of my file in his data book? I would call him to see if he can help you out? If that is not an option, maybe Todd Z from EVOMS could shot you an updated EVOMSit?
Good Luck
Robert

Joe,

Without going into great detail in this thread.... I recently had an almost identical situation on a 2.7t audi.

Like Ari's car....the Audi had 60lb Siemens/Deka/Continental/Chinese made injectors (I could write a book about why we no longer use these).

It turned out 1 injector would barley open at 3 ms pulsewidth and 1 injector flowed out to be almost 800cc's.

Giving GIAC the benifit of the doubt for a second..... The 60lbs injectors that were produced in the last 8-10 months are no were near the same quality as before and this MAY be a hardware issue.

Just a heads up.

Tony ,
I understand your point while yes it could be the hardware issue you stated or it could even be a air leak after the Maf (unpressurised side)allowing in unmetered air causing the hunting and stalling my guess from experience(I had a Giac tune at one time) is still the tune . The only thing that really solved the stalling was the switch in the tune.Regardless Ari states they are not getting back to him which is the reason I advised him to call Evoms.

I respect your past experience and am defiantly glad that you resolved your issue with a new tune.

It all too often that we get cars in for a retune because the owner or independent shop believe its the tune that is causing an issue when it turns out to be 100% hardware related.

9 times out of 10 software and tuning is the last place the diagnostic process should start when working an issue like this.

I appreciate all the feedback and the honest opinion from Tony for whom I have a lot of respect.

Don't you think a faulty injector would show up at idle or the top end? It seems very weird that the issue only happens at a particular (super low) throttle opening.

The sad part is that after talking to many tuners (Tony included) I went witch GIAC because they were local and I had a good experience with their K24 flash. I was trying to be loyal. I figured they would be more responsive if they were in my backyard.

I had a great experience with the Standard GIAC K24 flash. had it for three years.

This new tune? Not so much. Also, Durametric readings show the car running way rich. All I want them to do is review the car and tune as they promised.

I have heard of a lot of driveability problems with the GIAC, I don't know what exactly it is, but they have it...
