HFS-1, but I do have the bigger (165psi) pump. The new kits are all plug and play now, except for the few wires that need to be tied into the ECU for safeties...

What are the mechanics behind fitting the Gauge into the spare port on the Passenger side where you have it? Does it just fit in, or is there an adapter?

I am talking to Richard at Aquamist at the moment on the best approach, I think it will either be the 2D System (but the pump is a little noisy) or the HFS-6.

Thanks

Where I have my gauge, (where others have put it, not my idea) is what I believe is the temperature sensor location. I don't recall there being a screw there. The plastic piece pops right out. Unclip the sensor and let it fall (or push it) down to the under the dash area, as far as the wires will reach. You need to take a Dremel and cut it until the guage fits tight and it just sits in there. Make sure you go slow. Cut it only until it fits tightly. Nothing else will hold it. No parts needed, only time and very little of that. Also, the pump ONLY comes on, to spray, under boost. How noisy could it be? If you can hear that pump while you are boosting, then, yes, it's too noisy!!!

Regarding pump noise. I am talking about the impact pump not the one you have. I had it on the Lotus and when it ran it did make some noise. vibrated on the mount and amplified through the car. Where is was located was basically right behind the drivers ear though. On the Porsche it would be up front so the noise would be dampened.

I am also tring to figure out if my car has the 7 liter or 3 liter Washer fluid tank. Suppose I better take it out and look...

Thanks for the info.

Hmmm, not sure what you mean about an "impact pump", but the Aquamist pump is rubber mounted removing all vibration. As far as tank, I removed my drivers side inner fender to reveal the factory washer tank and it didn't look like I could fit the Aquamist float switch in there, so I just mounted a bigger tank. Good Luck

This is the Impact pump VS the one you have:

I think this is your style, standard rotary, scroll down to pic:

DAP is infamous around these parts
Just a quick head's up... the old style "race" pump that you have pictured with the 2D system will not be able to maintain enough flow even with two of the large accumulators (I've seen this firsthand even on the smaller engine'd Audi S4s). I would HIGHLY recommend going with either the later 125psi or the current 165psi pumps that the newer Aquamist HFS kits are coming with.

Dave I agree. I have been talking to Richard at Aquamist, we are leaning towards the HFS-6, but I do not really like the idea of having the 52mm gauge in my car. That is the only issue.

What size jets do you use on the 996 TT?

Thanks

SWR,

As DAP stated above, the smaller race pump even with accumulators will not be able to keep up at this power level.

The hsf6 (or even the 1) are both GREAT system's on the 996tt.

Speak with your tuner about nozzel size. Anything above dual .3/.4's will most likely require a file change... This is something that can take MANY file revisions if they don't have a base water injection make already set up.
