Where is the shootout hard data?

This is America. Unless they paid you or you signed an agreement, this is America. Someone who is there should send the data in. If you don't feel comfortable posting it, I will. If 6speed doesn't want it on line, I will host the data elsewhere.

Please, this is America!

We were told to not release the data per Excellence Mag...

I don't know the majority of the numbers anyway, but they were told to hold off...Can't blame them...they have a magazine to sell.

Excellence

Darren,
Did 6speedonline pay to sponser this event and not get credit? I didn't see any banners out there or realize they had invested in this. Just curious.

Darren,

I started this Porsche Shootout idea after seeing the C&D Tuners Shootout. Remember, the first one was organized with the feature editor of Excellence. With about two weeks to go before the event, Excellence pulled their support away from that editor. Sharkster then picked up where we left off with another magazine. I would imagine that Excellence set the ground rules and everyone was informed if they were broken then they would not run the article. Either that or the contract the participants/guests signed obligated them to not divulge certain things.

I originally sat down with Tim and Irene to form the current shootout. The original idea was not to tie in with any one magazine, but to invite them all. It looks like this changed for whatever reason. After what happened in the first one, I did not stay involved in the second one although I hoped it to be successful. I guess to make it successful, there were certain rules that had to be followed. This is just my opinion.

I noticed that the Twin Turbo Shootout Website had the 6speedonline logo.

I for one will not disclose anything nor do I think we should. the request was made and we all sent our money in knowing the rules. The article will be out next month so it a very small time to wait unlike the last one. The two shootouts can not be compared, this was first class all the way and I for one would like to fulfill the request of AutoBaron and Excellence. We will know in a very small amount of time.

Gary, I usually agree with you but not on this. Stephan, if you feel some obligation or said you wouldn't, fine, I can respect that. But, for anyone who just watched, please ... give me a break! We spend major $$$ on our cars so they can sell magazines at a potentially marginally increased profit because no one will post the results? BS! Almost everyone bought the European Tuner issue and almost everyone here will buy this Excellence as well.

Secondly, this country is founded on free speech and I would love to hear the resulsts before I buy the magazine. I'm not asking for a copywritten image of the magazine article, I'm asking for someone who paid his money to attend, to help out the rest of us ... at little or NO expense to the mags who are profiting from our incredible expenditures.

Yes we all agreed. An agreement and our word is all we have. There is so much raw data anyway that it would only stir rumors and confusion. Pete is an outstanding writer and the article will make sense of all of it. Asking the masses to wait less than a month is the fastest I have ever seen a national mag print anything. We all paid and I think no one is more excited to know what and how then those of us that paid and showed up. Aside all of that we agreed we wouldn't. Lets not make Pete unhappy he agreed to do this.

I agree with you Tim,

I was just commenting on those that knew the rules going in and abiding by them... It's fair game for observers as long as they did not commit to anything.
