Porsche Civil War....
Hello guys,
I have not posted for quite a while, but I spent at least 1 hour every day here...
Some of you may remember that I had a '02 996tt K24/18g tuned by Proto here in Athens,Greece which was really flying... Streetracing here is very intense and the Porsche scene is rising every day... Many 996 and 997tt tuned from all over the world fight for glory and recognition...
I have recently switched to a 997tt and am looking at my options as you can surely understand!
The thing is that a "newcome/rookie" 997tt (tip) has been introduced to our games here and he claims that he has a simple USA tuner flash (pls inform me if I am allowed to say whose) and nothing else and is putting out some pretty amazing numbers/results...
He has beaten everything that comes into his path:
1. several 997's with similar mods
2. 996tt K24 with flash, exhaust and Ic;s etc over 10-12 car lengths
3. 996tt GT28 full dynoed 560 AWHP (Mustang) over 2 full car lenghts
4. 997tt VTG's full stage 4 dynoed 570AWHP (Mustang) - the difference
was so big that the driver of the 997 let go of the gas pedal...
This 997tt wonder was running VP MS 109 as he admitted later on, but surely that can't be the reason of these stunning results with a simple flash, can it???
If that was not enough, he has now challenged my old K24/18g 996 and a 600AWHP 997tt with modified GT2 turbos!
What do you guys make of this???
If that is true I think I found my next step for modding my 997tt - a simple flash exhaust and I will be near 700crank HP ....

You will need more than a simple flash to get to 700 HP. To get anywhere remotely close -- Turbo upgrade, ECU, Intercoolers,Exhaust plus the little things. The 997 GT2 will eat him(presuming ECU upgrade) if his turbos are stock as he says.
FWIW0running 109 would do next to nothing without other changes--then it would do a lot!

I know, BUT it looks that with this car there is a difference of 70Crank HP from running a stock 93 programm and an MS109 race program on an otherwise fully stock car!

long time man... I don;t believe him and I am going to race him in my old car, BUT he says we can go and check oute the car wherever we want...
The distributor of the flash here offers a free trial to my 997 as well to see for myself
Can this be for real you think???
And if it can how on earth can it be done with such low boost pressure ??? They are talking 1 Bar ........

I promise you I will get to the bottom of this for sure...
There was another 997tt tip a couple of years back here, same mod (APR) same extraordinary results now that I think of it, but it only run against other similar stage 997's and never with cars that had such extensive mods....
What can I say....

I read somewhere that a TPC tune can deliver those results with just an exhaust and turbo. Maybe someone from a 997tt forum can chime in...I

Just amazing what a 997tt can do...with simple mods.

That would make these races with equal parts, no?

Yeah, that's what I thought, modified turbos, ic, exhaust and tune. He probably has fueling upgrades too.
Did anyone notice on the dyno graph posted the pressure? 29.54 in is a very low pressure area. Standard day is 29.92. I suspect this difference will cause the dyno to compensate on the high side (if ya know what I mean).
