Question Winter tire opinion needed

I was thinking about buying winter tires for my C2. I don't plan on driving too much in the winter but I don't want the car to sit for 3 to 4 months either. Is it worth the expense/effort. In some ways this would also cut down on wear on my regular tires.

Opinions?

I wouldn't do it, because unless you're actually driving in snowy/icy conditions you won't need them. Just consider keeping the car in during the bad weather.

Getting a lot of mixed opinions, some people say no others say yes.

Anyone else?

If you ever need to drive in the snow, without winter tires would be very very dangerous.

We drive our TT all year round. Even with 4wd, the summer tires wouldn't be able to handle the slippery condition. With the snow tires on, it performed better than the BMW X5!

is there a snow tire or all season tire that will fit the stock 996TT wheel?

I know most snow tires offered are for 10.5 wheels, but im just wondering if they'll be able to strecth another .5 inch to accomodate my stock wheel 18x11? Any thoughts?

If you have another vehicle to use for really bad days in the winter, I would forego the snow tires. They are great if you need to use the car everyday, but are too expensive to get just for inssurance to drive on ok winter days.
