I was running 1.3 bar on greedy and on 109?
hey Hollywood, I was in the all black Cayenne GTS that came near the end when you were leaving the restaurant...love the wheels btw. Have you put the car on the dyno?

I just need to buy a box so I can run times when the weather is convenient or early Sunday morning.

I thought similarly until I went out to get times myself. It's hard to explain but there is a science to getting a great time regardless of the amount of power you are putting down. I'm sure this isn't the best explanation but once you go and try you'll see what I mean.

As Ben said there are more variables to getting a good run. You need the right place to conduct a run which is preferably smooth and safe. Scott allows up to 3% downgrade so a small slope will help. Weather is key in getting best performance from car. Pick a time with low temp/humidity and high baro pressure. Start at around 2000rpm in 3rd (assuming 6 sp manual) and floor it. Try to shift 500 rpm or so below limiter so you dont hit cutoff. Then shift quickly to fourth and ride her to the limiter. There are even more variables than I mention so try several runs to get optimal performance for your car and setup.

Go try it and report back. Really. Go out 1 day and do a few runs. Go out a few days later and try again, maybe in a different place. I have improved my times significantly with not a lot of changes to my car and I have VERY few mods. As has been said, elevation, slope, weather (cooler weather provides more power but less traction if your at a level where you can spin your tires in 3rd gear), bumpy roads upset your run, etc...It really helps to know your car, which is why PRACTICE helps. Do you know where your car starts building boost? Do you know when to shift because your car is not pulling anymore?...all of this matters...oh and I'm not being a smarta$$ either, just look at my sig for my mods and times

A lot of us here are drag racers too. When you drive these cars fast, especially powerful ones, don't take anything for granted. Anything under 60degrees and I have traction issues up to 4th gear...PSM can be your friend and your enemy...oh yeah, PSM off for 60-130's and drag racing too...

AWD? Most of us in this thread have converted or are converting to RWD.

My car must be really slow, but I dead hook in the 40* weather on 19" PS2s. Even when I tried RWD out (Just driveshaft) I hooked easily in 3rd gear on 19" PS2s.

Remember my 6.2 was only pass of the night with _Zac in the car. I only have done 3-4 60-130s EVER since my new turbo kit. Like I said I think it is a worthless stat. I go to the events to hang out with my friends and run my brothers car in the 1/4.

I came from Corvettes, Camaros and Supras too. You'll find that the AWD on this car is all but useless...I am currently RWD.

...and yes Chris, the 60-130 is a useless gauge, if all you do is dragrace or in your case, watch your brother dragrace...

Some of us like to roll on the highway and the 60-130 is the perfect test to see where and how your car runs in that zone...

I did eyeball the blk Cayeene just as I was leaving. Sorry I did not get to meet you but I had to go back home to SA. No Dyno as of yet. I am more partial to road course fun. I am probably one of the few who actually take a big step forward like the 24/18g set up and are pretty happy and never go for more.

My concern for more pwr or bigger turbos is what that might do when I am at turn in on a corner and power down while hitting my apex and then probably spin out with all that extra pwr.

Next mods are sway bars front/rear, control arms, eliminate the poly mounts and add overall stronger more reliable susp parts to keep from body roll.

Actually it doesn't mean **** from a roll either. My brothers 5.2 vs Seans 5.7 would really end up Matt being BUS LENGTHS ahead of Sean. My brothers car should go over a 150 in the 1/4 and Sean will go around 140. Yet they are only .5 off... Where is your logic there?

Sorry I know 60-130 is your thing man, but in the real world it doesn't mean jack ****... Even roll racing...

Let me make it simple for everyone...
THE CAR WITH THE FASTEST MPH IN THE 1/4 MILE WILL WIN A ROLL RACE.... NOT THE CAR WITH THE FASTEST 60-130...

Do you understand why I think it is a useless measure. Last race from a roll I was involved in was not a 60-130 race...

PS... Sorry if I'm coming off as a dick, but this 60-130 logic is BRAND NEW to the world in the 9 years I've been tearing it up on the street I have never seen a car that beat me because it went a faster 60-130. It has ALWAYS been that he has the faster MPH....

And as far as drag racing goes... Big brother was the first in the 8s (4th or 5th Nitrous LS1 in the 8s IN THE WORLD!).... 4 YEARS AGO! ... and of course in the 9s 5 YEARS AGO
