Video Highlights of SharkWerks Motor @ 8800rpms Tuned with EVOMSit
Hey folks, over the past few months SharkWerks has been developing/proofing our 3.9L 997GT3RS 500hp engine thanks to our collaboration with our chums over at EVOMS. Those guys keep on going crazy with Turbos so somebody had to deal with the naturally aspirated engines eh? If you’re into dynos, track testing, exhaust sounds, racing et al. this video we put together (the wife using Avid) should have you covered. We’ve collected a plethora of footage over the last few months and in particular wanted to share some of the facets of real-time tuning made available now with the EVOMSit program. Being a curious lad by nature I always wondered why nobody ever really gets to see behind the (iron?) curtain. So what’s the actual process like? And what are the tools involved when it comes to the secretive “black magic” Porsche tuning? A blend of some very expensive equipment (ok and some skill), good hardware and the EVOMSit set up and we think we have some neat results. For those of you with EVOMSit software now you know some of the how and why. The last couple of years have brought forward some major breakthroughs in our little corner of the industry (just look at some of the EVOMS Texas Mile results) and there’s a lot more to come but for now here’s a taste….

Thanks and being able to go that high where she screams is my favorite part:P I was still adapting to that when Woodster came by for a visit so he prolly thinks I shift like a grandma:P
Thanks paulie... The wife learned a lot about the 3.9
There was so much other footage that we wanted to show/capture but the truth is we had our hands full building/testing it etc... and often in 110 degree heat neither Dan, myself or James could ever be considered "good" camera men
We tried though! The main thing is to show you folks some of the behind-the-scenes tuning etc....
Cheers RUFone!
Thanks Eugene, Kermit's gotten a lotta love but she works hard for it
3.8L would be the limit as far as bore on a TT. Even with steel liners I wouldn't push it further
Hehe thanks 007-911... Sound provided by James@SharkWerks with our exhaust
Thanks TXGold!
Here's more of just the racing...

Can confirm that the power delivery on this thing is just perfect.... linear, pulls hard, and revs forever..... best powertrain i've ever sat in and it really makes turbo's sound like a vacuum cleaner.
Love that vid - Joan did a great job on it and its fantastic that we actually get to see the mapping being done real time on the car. I wish more tuners would be as open about sharing some of their development experiences like this.
Great job Alex & all the Sharksters, and thanks once again for having me and J over and allowing us to hang out with the team !!

I'll raise you your mushy peas... How about some Yorkshire pudding instead?
