Clutch Time for me - what do you like or dislike about yours?
I purchased a Clutch Master stage 3 from Dan @ Vivid ,it just recently got installed in my GT2 using the stock dual mass flywheel, It feels the exact same as the stock GT2 clutch,Its not grabby & the release is the exact same middle of pedal travel. So far it's perfect I hope it lasts with the 24/18 turbo's, Dan @ Vivid told me I should not have any problems with it at the 24/18 power level.
It is fairly common to resurface flywheels in most car repair communities provided they are not too worn to yeild resurfacing. Some shops will tell you that you can never resurface FWs and they will sell you a new one for alot of $$$. This is not entirely true. It depends on the FW. Dual mass FWs need to be checked for slop before considering re-using. They must make sure to machine the friction surface as well as the step that the pressure plate bolts to(if there is a step). This 964 LWFW that I posted the link for would probably only need 2-3 thousands off max if any at all. It is most likey good to go. I would also like to add that their is absolutely nothing wrong with buying a new FW if it makes you feel more comfortable. Just a cheap option though.
My Clutchmasters kevlar unit is in a box and going back to clutchmasters for a dose of "Fibertuff" material install on the flywheel side of the disc. My tech said the clutch looks brand new after a year of heavy DE and performance driving. Mine is with the clutchmasters Sachs 999 PP with fulcrum mod and 964LWFW. Other than the clutch chatter the kevlar tends to cause, the clutch has worked well. The issues I previously reported with clutch engagement/disengagement have been traced back to broken 1st/2nd gears with syncros welded to the gears!?!?!?!
Anyway, very happy with mine, and heel-toe shifting with the LWFW is simply amazing. Revs sooo much faster than my DM unit ever did.

.While I was at it, new DV's and F hose.
It's 45 outside, and they're talking about wet snow next week. Unbelievable. 5 nice months of rain and sun, 7 months of rain and snow.
First 125 miles have been great! Didn't do the RS flywheel, but an aluminum flywheel. Revs great and car seems to hum along a little better just driving around easy and on the highways.
The release point is slightly higher, but not much. The feel is similar to stock as well. I killed the car 2 times the first day and it died on it's own once due to it diving down too far after a rev.
Drove it some more today and didn't kill it, so I am learning better where the release point is.
The flywheel is noisy, but well worth what it adds performance wise. Still breaking everything in and under orders to go easy for a while. So can't comment on the performance just yet.
I plan on putting some serious miles on this weekend and week to get her broken in well. Have a DE next weekend I want to be ready for!
The LWFW make more noise, but not as much of a driving change as I thought from all the posts I read.
I hope to add some more power and see what it will hold! It should hold everything I have planned!
