Don't have my 996TT any more, but I thought I'd share this find. GMG teamed up with M7 on their WC 997TT...this set up is available for the 996TT apparently.

Funny thing...I did a search for M7 tuning...their in SoCal...tuning Mini's.

Retail for the Mini system is $6900. I wonder how well it really works? I hope Fabryce/GMG will comment.

I looked at his left foot.. he is using the clutch... I mean, how are you engaging the clutch then?

I see! Mark, you really have good eyes. I did not notice until you pointed it out. Man, it should use some kind of power from hydraulic pump or something and it will be awesome.

M7 is a really good company. Quality products from what I've seen. A bit expensive for sure, but they're on the higher end of the spectrum with quality. Also, met him a long time ago at the Cars and Coffee in Calabasas and he was a very nice guy. Was driving a Grey Mini Cooper S that was ridiculously nice. The one thing I don't like about this setup is that the paddles turn with the wheel. I'm a staunch supporter of the paddles being stationary as it'd be easy to hit a wrong shift while turning the wheel. if you need to shift in a corner.

To have a true sequential system, you need a whole new transmission.

I believe that this product is no longer available, if it ever was. And Oakley's never materialized because...?

...because John Oakley has been black listed from his own company?

How do you know the M7 system isn't available? Or are you just speculating (again)...because GMG just confirmed it's availability.

This will save a little time when shifting but since you still have to use the clutch, I don't see the advantage considering the cost. I have driven the PDK, and for the cost and ease of use, there is no real comparison. PDK hands down.

They need more explanation of the parts that are changed. Cup car sequentials have clutches and a lot of guys use them while shifting because it's easier on the gearbox even though the only time you HAVE to use them is launching and getting going.

I'm more interested in what his right foot is doing during shifts than his left one, if he can shift without lifting and a press of the clutch there is no torque interuption, think BMW SMG from the M5 and M6. I don't think those shifters are all that fast despite what BMW says, but still the fact that he's using the clutch isn't a closed case.

They need more details, if this is just a bunch of gadgets that eliminate the h-shifter then it's nothing but a good option to a tip/auto, but if the gearbox is changed significantly, which it doesn't sound like based on the price, then it could be somewhat advantageous.
