some early mile results
I was wondering the same, i would expect it to be much higher esp when compared to 996tt due to lighter weight. Maybe its the gearing.
Bingo! I wondered this all day.
A C6 Z on the other hand, running stock gears, will indeed have a bit of a disadvantage after 4th, since 5th and 6th are so tall, but definitely not that much.
I still believe something is definitely off....

Compounding is the compressed output of one device feeding into another. Pulling trucks do this, some planes did it, and the boost levels achieved are sky high. HKS did it with the MR2 Supercharged cars too which was a neat idea. It's been awhile since I did anything in the Supra community but I know guys were playing with both sequential AND compound systems. Straight six engines made plumbing this interesting, certainly more room in there than on the 996! I'd love to hear more details on this car, I too think 750RWHP is low for the boost level I heard tossed around but it's power curve has GOT to be better than a big single. Stock cams hit the wall at about that power level though so who knows. Need more detail :-)
Thx Magic, I've long known about aircraft that employed stuff like this but I never knew much about it's application on cars. I imagine tuning and plumbing is a major obstacle. I've read hear and there about guys trying small turbos or even a roots type blower for the low end and then augmenting it with a large turbo for the top end. I think there was a guy on the Evo forums that tried this several years ago. I have no idea how it worked out though. Great concept in theory..........
I know that for the NA C6Z06's, Eric (AtomicZ here on the forum) ran a 189 mph which is the fastest all motor (No TT, SC or Nitorous) Z06 to ever run the mile as far as I'm concerned.
Also, a cam/bolt-on Z06 with 569 rwhp supposedly went 187 with the following mods:
Custom grind camshaft
Kooks Stainless longtube headers
LS7 Intake Manifold
LS7 Throttle Body
Callaway CAI
ECU Tune
Eric's car makes around 580 rwhp, so the 569 rwhp car running 2 mph slower seems about right.

He did a 26.0 0-186 which is pretty damn stout for a NA car. I think Marty said it was about a second and a half quicker than his 996TT that did 191...
That's very stout. He was flat moving!
