some early mile results
It seems like a lot of people have questions regarding my clutch. I raced jbsteven in the roll out shootout, (awesome guy:dirt Joe,hahahaha). That is where my clutch slipped on top of third gear. He can chime in here, I started pulling hard but the rev limiter started bouncing on top of thrid gear, I let loose then popped into 4th then again big time so I let go, not worth to beat it down too much and I wanted to preserve it for the mile. I bought this used from VR
Did not even get a chance to upgrade the plates either before the mile. At the roll out interview I said "I lost, and race is a race, no excuses" tell it like it is. I knew some tricks to make the clutch hold a little bit but on higher psi levels it slipped. Again, no excuses for me. Hope this answers the whole thing for you guys. I was not there to beat anyone's scores, I showed up to have a good time. I neve announced either that I was coming down to do anything spectacular
Insane power to those TT G's. Joe, congrats on the blazing run, the car is moving hard. Cheers boys.

No excuses and I don't need to explain anymore either. If I had the 1330 plates or higher it would have been better but they were the 900 series plated I found out later. Lessons learned let's move on, I don't like to put fingers on people. We had a great time anyway. I was smart to let off the clutch at the roll out, think about it this way
Unfortunately Todd just spun the GT2 at 200 mph. Thank God he's Ok! The GT2 didn't suffer any visible damage but it did spin 3 or 4 times. The crosswinds are pretty bad. Todd thinks he may have gotten caught in a gust.
BTW, a friend of mine popped his sunroof ( 944 turbo ) few years ago while doing 270 kmh at Autobahn, almost sh****d his pants...

you are such a smart azzAS long as everyone ended up safe, that is all that matters.

So, he told you it was a 1330 series plated clutch when he sold it to you, but you found out later that it actually only had the 900 plates??
I was told that it would hold a 1000whp, again I don't want to point any fingers at anyone here. It is my mistake and on a short notice we were not able to get sponsorship from Tilton. The car was still on the hoist thursday night until 11pm PST time. It is either the 1330 or the Tilton way, have no idea what will happen but I will update my thread as soon as we find out more. Cheers
Well it was an interesting event to say the least. Damn near everyone was first class from 6speed
It really does help to put a face to a name, it is just going to be so hard to be a dick to you guys now...Topgun excluded( more on that later in the post)
....
TX clearly lived up to its rep as a no BS state, the mile was an exhilirating experience and a humbling one as well. For the first time in a long time the cars talked louder than the hype, and that was a good thing.
To the HTown crew, you are a classy bunch. Peter, Todd, Ben, Chris Paulie( you are the only one who looked like I expected BTW...Walnuts thru and thru
) Mike from CT was great. Art , you seem like a humble ,down to earth guy
.... Eric and Marty were great... Changing gears now, the ****** from Brooklyn, Topgun.....
I officially ask you to relieve yourself of the position of Joe's handmaiden so that I may now, officially, become the EVOMS *****. I grovel at you greatness and tremble at the sound of your name. I am man enough to admit the defeat at your hands was swift, unequivocal and so thorough that even I, KPG, the purveyor of quality wit and biting sarcasm for the 6 do hereby admit I have no good material for this situation. My first reaction was to claim I missed a gear, nah, DocRob has patented that excuse besides there is no way to claim I missed gears on 12 runs. I could have sworn I would have kicked your butt if it wasnt for the valve spring, damn, VR beat me to that excuse
. This leaves me with little atlternatives to spin this situation other than to say....Damn, I opened up some serious whoop a$$ on those Mustangs
.... Its all good, there are no hard feelings.. Thanks for the great time!

Kevin - you are one of a kind. It was great to meet everybody and put faces to all the names. It was a lot of fun.
I want to thank Todd Z at EVOMS for allowing me to pit with them and to borrow a couple of tools. Great bunch of guys - your crew is awesome and treated me like one of the gang.
Joe/Kevin/Tom - You're all great guys and appreciate you allowing me to hang. Your cars are awesome and of course Joe's is just plain stupid fast. After this weekend I think I am going to have to go buy a Porsche.(and send it to Todd Z for a joetwint lite set-up)
Todd - VividRacingTX - Great to see you. Awesomes runs. I'm sure you'll break 200 next time.
Ben - BMoores - Great to meet you. Breaking 200 with your set-up is truely amazing. Congrats.
Mike - TTBoost - You drove farther than I did. Your nutz. It was great to meet you and your car ran awesome.
Jamie - Good to see you again. To bad on the head gasket on the Z06. I was looking forward to see it run.
It was good to see the guys from Houston again - Peter, Paulie, Tommy Bahn - and Tim (basupra - go buy the G so I can drive it)
Overall it was just an awesome weekend and I hope to make it back in March. It is really tough for me to run the mile and go to TX2K10. At the moment I am really torn on which event to make my priority.
