Ryan:

I'm a bit late to the party and all the relevant "pros and cons" for the 18" vs 19" wheel debate have been covered in great detail. While I think 19" wheels look fantastic, I'm in the 18" wheel camp. I'm always looking for less unsprung weight; and all things being equal, a high quality 18" forged wheel would be my choice.

As Oak pointed out, the GT2 wheels are HEAVY -- significantly heavier than the stock Turbo's hollow spoke wheels. You will be amazed by the impact lighter wheels will have on the GT2's performance. I recently put some 18" Fikse Profil wheels (made to GT2 specs) with stock GT2 rubber on my car -- total unsprung weight reduction (as compared to the stock wheel/tire combo) was 34lbs -- 10lbs per side on the rear drive wheels alone. It could just be my imagination, but the car feels noticeably faster, and the already lively steering on the GT2 just got more razor sharp. Overall, the car's performance was greatly enhanced by going with lightweight wheels.

Ryan:

Don't have any quality photos yet (besides my quality shots are terrible in comparison to your photos), but do have a few lame "in the garage" wheel photos.

Here goes.....

Ryan: You asked for it -- just for you. Here's a few photos of two different 18" wheels for the GT2, both built to GT2 specs.

First, Fikse Profil 13 -- overall unsprung weight savings of 32lbs. over the stock wheels/tires

Second, HRE 843R -- overall unsprung weight savings of 28.8 lbs over the stock setup
