Upgrading my wastegate springs to 10lbs..

Can someone help with the wastegate adjustment? I was told to adjust them to be closed at 11psi and start to move at 12 psi.

Any input would be appreciated.

FWIW I am doing this upgrade beacuse the wastegates are being blow open at boost levels over 1.1 bar. I want to run 1.2 -1.3 bar on my K24's.

1.0 bar is 14.7 lbs of boost. Depending on how your wastegates are set up you can have them set up to "creep" boost. Having a 1 bar spring, they should start to move at 0.9 bar, to keep the boost consistant. You could add more tention to the spring to hold the wastegate shut longer. Make sure your cars MAP sensor can sence the amount of boost, and that there is the proper amount of fuel, so you dont get any detnation.
What style of wastegate are you running? Are you running a boost controller?

The stock springs are 6-8 lbs. I am using a electonic greddy boost controller (profec A). I am upgrading the springs to 10 lbs. Since the spring rate is different than stock I assume stock adjustment proceedures do not apply

I would run the 10lb spring and bleed a bit more boost on top of the wastegate via the boost controller. I have never used a profec series controller, but I use a AVC-R. I have found that when you run a stiffer spring, boost controll becomes easier to keep consistant at higher boost levels.
I wish you luck!

Also keep in mind the AVC-R has great boost stability control. Also the new profec B spec 2s have this. Not to sure on the profec A though. AVC-R is the way to go for boost control but it is a pain in the *** to set up. RPM based boost control is great for traction though.
