Can anyone who is good with a graphics program
EPL dynos in 3rd as even with 4 or 5 fans you cannot duplicate 130-140 mph air across the intercoolers. Tony feels that 3rd gear (approx 110-115mph) the fans are fairly suitable, thus making a more accurate result. Again, none of this is gonna have a huge bearing on the CURVE, which is what we all care about. Obviously if it makes more power the curve moves up a smidge. 20-30hp isn't gonna make me buy a kit. A long, high, flat curve is gonna make me buy kit

This is news to me, as I thought all Porsche 996TT and GT2's were dynoed
in 4th gear.

I can't speak for others, but I know Tony dynos in 3rd on his Mustang dyno for the reasons I have stated above. I have dyno'd my own car many times and have rolled it in 3rd and 4th out of curiosity, and the difference in power isn't worth the discussion. I think when you dyno in 4th, you get a lot more heat soak (much longer pulls) as the fans cannot duplicate the MPH that you are reaching or simulating?
Jamie, Markski know that i am hoping to go out to the track one last time before the snow hits, and then i am going over to DaSilvas Mustang Dyno and do a 4th gear pull at 1.5 bar full out after the car is Tuned by Todd K.
This should be in the next 10 days.
But i do think your idea is great so if we want ti done lets all do it the exact same ways i think that way its very informative don't you agree??

I have Chris dynojet file, if anyone wants to send there for caparison I will put them together. There was no tricks on Chris car I can promiss you that, hell Chris even wants to turn it up, Dont ask my why but I expect if it holds together that we might see 850rwhp.
If anything, doing the Dyno in third gives a disadvantage. Less time in gear for the turbos to spool. Unless there is a way to increase the load so as to slow down the pull.
One thing not many here talk about is that teh spool characteristics of the larger turbos really hurts lower gear performance. I'd be interested in seeing how much boost a GT30, especially the bigger 3076 turbos, produce in real world driving in 1st and 2nd.
I'm betting some of those cars aren't as fun to drive around town as their dyno numbers might lead one to believe.
