Question Cab Squeaking Like Crazy!!!

over the past few days have been noting extremely annoying squeaky noise from my cab.

it seems to be concentrated near the driver's side front...

made a recording of it and is attached as a zip file....

any ideas?

i want to oil it or something, but was wondering if any other cab owners have had issues with this squeaking.

even with windows rolled down, the sound persists.

i'm pretty sure it's recent, because there's no way i would have tolerated that for so long without noticing it. my girlfriend agrees.

would appreciate any thoughts on the matter.

My cab used to make much louder noises whenever the car hit a pothole or rough pavement. I had to take it to the dealer at least twice for the problem. As I recall, the dealer installed something to the frame of the softtop. I am not sure exactly what he did but the noises disappeared. There may have been a TSB on this since the first time I took it in, the dealer did a quick fix, but hinted that if that did not work they would order some parts and redo the work. All work was done under warranty.

Also, I read somewhere that using talcum powder at the suports where the top attaches to the windshield can help as well. I did not try that, but it may be a simple and cheap solution worth trying.
