Unlock Radio - CDR220?

Is there any way to unlock the radio (CDR220) after the incorrect 4-digit "password" has been entered in three times. The radio display shows a "WAIT" status now and seems to be in lock mode.

Is there a way to undo this without having to go thru the hassle of dealer?

TIA

You need to contact a dealer for the OEM codes, based on the VIN and sometimes proof of ownership.

usually you wait 15 minutes and try again,

don't try to brute force it that could take awhile.

besides th dealer, there are also companies that do this using the serial number of the radio

I recently had the same problem. I just called the dealer and they happened to have the codes on file. My car had the battery replaced in the past so the dealer had the codes on file. If not, I think you have to take the car to them.

On the 2003 the locked radios were discontinued. They finally realized no one wanted the radios.

Turn you key to the ACC accessories postion for an hour with the radio on IIRC and then try to enter the correct code again.

Actually, I'm hoping my Becker gets stolen. What a POS.

The dealer can look it up on his network using the VIN.

Arling >> Didn't get a chance to disconnect the battery long enough again to allow the reset to take effect. Had to rush out of the house last night after I spoke to you. Will try tonight. Thanks!

Disconnecting the battery is not going to do anything.

As stated above and in the radio manual you need to leave the radio on for 1 hour before you can enter the proper code once it is in the theft mode.

radio codes

I agree with comments on the stupid OEM radios. They are a POS and ALWAYS have been. Blockheads...Radio codes are a significant source of frustration to my clients, as well as WHEEL LOCKS! Never had a set of wheels stolen in 40 years AND my facility is in NYC!
