I am just going by what I have been told by my tuner and that is not to go over 1.5, even with good gas. I understand that Chris is running less timing which makes it possible to turn the boost up, but I would still be a bit nervous considering the price of these motors. Now with the additional control and refinement of a standalone then 1.8 is probably very safe.
I'm not being a dick, it's just most of what you post car related is untrue.....either because you don't understand the question or you don't understand the context when an answer was given to you.

VR has been trying to talk me into running 1.6.....I will talk to Todd. He has said in the past that I can go 1.6 but he does not officially recommend it (I guess that is called covering ones ***).
Since it does not look like I will be close to the stock block 996 60-130 record anymore, there is no sense in risking a BOOM just for a roll on race.

This is why i was saying will vary from application to application. My power tq levels at 1.6 bar would presumably be a bit lower than yours. GT30's at 1.6 would I hope make more power.

Todd is doing the right thing. I don't think any tuner will suggest to a customer that they should try what I have done. I told both Boost Logic and Tony @ EPL that I wanted to push the car as far as it could go. If I could do it all over again I may have even turned it up to 2bar sustained to see if she held together the day I made 843rwhp. 
LOL You were already so ecstatic with the power it made, I can't imagine if we kept going.. but that is how you find limits
