clutch pedal is too soft...

Any way to stiffen the clutch pedal without doing the GT2 conversion? I can deal with the engagement point but not the soft feel when pressing the pedal. I had a chance to try the GT3 and 996TT w/ the GT2 conversion, a bit too stiff. Any options in between?

I remember seeing a post about removing the helper spring at the top of the petal. Do a search for clutch spring and should come up.
