question about selling my 996tt

Hello all,
have a question about whether to turn my car back to stock configuration best I can or leave it alone if I was to sell it? Any insight on this? I've got a K24/26 UMW stage 2, 5 bar FPR and Speedtech exhaust, with LW flywheel and upgraded clutch. This was stock up till about a year ago.

Seems that alot of potential buyers get squeamish and put off about a modded car. I am considering pulling the K24/26's and Speedtech exhaust off and putting the k16's and stock exhaust back on it, as they are sitting in my garage. Then flashing the car back to stock file. Not sure what to do about 5 bar FPR, does that have to come off as well? I know the labor will cost me a bit switching back, but the car my sell eaiser and I could ebay the exhaust and turbos

Anyone's insights are welcome....

Thanks.
D

you will get more if you turn the car back to stock cuase people will argue that it takes a special someone to pay extra for the mods and dont add value, and the tire kickers will insist just that to get it at a low price .

If it was me I'd try selling it on here or another enthusiast site as is first. Then if that doesn't fly put it back to stock and try to sell your bolt ons separately.

I think in order to flash it back to stock you will have to replace your 5 bar fpr with the stock 3.8 fpr or it may not run well.

Definitely try to sell it with the kit. when people feel the power, they may want that. By the way your turbos are K16 turbines with K24 compressor wheels inside K26 housings. So you could say that it is a K16/26-24

The turbos in are k24's that I bought new about a year ago and had modified into k2426's. K16's are in the garage. Thanks for insight as well. Gracias.

interesting, must be a slightly different setup than the std stage2. Stge2 is K16/24.

I also prefer modded cars but would agree that I don't know how much more value it would add per se....might be more of a selling point.

I would try to sell the car with the mods first.

I'm also in the market for a 996tt and i'm only a couple states away, I also don't mind mods. Please forward the same details to me @ jman229@gmail.com

Thanks!

Money wise, youre probably going to be better off selling the car stock and selling the aftermarket parts separately
