My mechanic is removing my cats and replacing a bolt on straight pipe so hopefully i will get a more sound and kick. The question I have is will i need to reflash and what will the MAF do? Will I get a check engine light?

Anyone else do this mod?

 

You will get a check engine light,but you can weld an extension pipe on the exhaust to put the o2 sensor in so the sensor doesn't get a lot of exhaust gasses and won't give you a cell.Or you have to let adjust your software to run without cats.
This is a picture of a catless downpipe from my Saturn sky redline were I welded an extension pipe on to put the o2 sensor in and I never had a check engine light.
MAF has nothing to do with catless exhaust I believe..

 

you will get a Check Engine Light until you modify the DME programming to be catless.
