well let's see.... Initial post was 4days ago. Then there was Turkey day.... Things like this don't happen instantly no matter what. If you've ever been to a street race you get to see like an hour of smack talking and bargaining and then MAYBE a race after a hundred cars caravan out of a lot off someplace obvious as hell to any fuzz hanging out at the doughnut shop on the corner. That's just the way it is!

Expecting this to happen overnight when an airstrip is involved and a twit of a ZR1 driver is kind of silly, especially with a holdiday in the middle. With the excuses already starting to simmer I expect it will be at LEAST another week, maybe two, if this even goes off at all. Often times that is what happens - the challenger starts to ask around, figures out that he's bit off WAY more than he can chew, and he will backpedal and make excuses to get out of it. He might even try to put it off till Spring when the weather will be "better" and hope that no one remembers - all the while talking trash when no one is looking about how his mighty VEE8 is the ****.

If this goes off faster I'll be surprised, generally tools like this are all mouth and when called on it are suddenly not available or will try to deny that they ever said anything disparaging... It's sad to watch really but will be MOST amusing if he get puts in his place so certainly worth the wait. If his reaction after the race can be filmed that would also be awesome as it's not often you get to see these guys shut up

im pretty sure he is not going to want to drag race with a zr1 anytime soon ... but if he does.... i cant wait for the vid!!!

My 996 , wow .. really ? hype why would i want to hype ? to gain what ? Also it has been raining from the day i made this post ! everyday !! did you ever think about that?

as blkmgk said , there was hollidays, long weekend and family time ..., however if he would call me and say lets run even on thanksgiving day i would be game . He called me out i accepted .. hopefully he will step up soon ,i told him not to bother with me until hes ready to go !

he said he didnt want to do it on the street i said no problem i have it covered, today is the first day that is not raining and is dry , we will see if he steps up . as for me im ready !!

Is he a logical person? Maybe their is something tugging at his mind that is saying to him this isn't a good idea. For instance like when your walking down a dark alley in New Orleans. It could come out ok but at the end your liable to end up naked, with no wallet and robbed!

Well its really not ever a fair race modded against stock and I agree the Porsche at 1.6 bar should win, but destroy is a strong word! My bone stock ZR1 ran a 10.79 at 132.88 2 weeks ago on the factory issue tires and my 1.2 bar GT2 only ran 10.83 at 130mph on drag radials in the same lane, so probably the reason you pulled the ZR1 you raced was driver related. They don't make and never have made a Porsche of any model that can pull a ZR1 stock to stock!

Which aftermarket kit are you running on your GT2? My much heavier, now sold 996TT at only 1.3 BAR went 10.65 @ 136 at MIR...and I had the same K24/18G setup as the guy who said he put 2 cars on a ZR1 by 130. No stock ZR1 could have beaten me at that level, regardless of the driver.

Actually, the Carrera GT traps 133-134 and runs 7.2 60-130. The best time I've seen for a ZR1 (so far) is 7.8.

Did this race happen yet? I have not read the complete thread. If not, when will is it going on?
